Former OG star Johan “N0tail” Sundstein says the Manila Major 2016 crowd is the best live audience he played in front of

Johan “N0tail” Sundstein is one of the biggest superstars we have seen in the Dota 2 scene over the years. The support player rose to stardom playing for Fnatic and then went on to co-find the French organization OG. N0tail soared to new heights by clinching two consecutive championships at The International (TI) in 2018 and 2019. After retiring from professional play at TI10, he has transitioned into a more behind-the-scenes role. Nowadays, he focuses on watching over the organization and its players, occasionally taking on the role of a coach.

In a recent stream with Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski, the player took a delightful trip down memory lane, reminiscing about the unforgettable moments he shared with the crowd throughout his illustrious professional career. One particular memory that stood out for N0tail was The Manila Major 2016, where he couldn’t help but express his deep admiration for the electrifying energy and support he received from the crowd.

“Ever? Ever, would still be Manila. Cause they were all so hyped. Just imagine someone who is just happy to be there, that was kinda vibe that was at the arena. It was a massive 360 type of thing, all the way around, and everyone was so energetic, the stadium was so energetic. And the best part was that they were cheering for every game, and the spectators were also there for every game.”

Another event that garnered his attention was The Kiev Major 2017. Despite the crowd’s slight bias towards Virtus.pro during the finals, they still displayed immense support for OG in matches against other teams. N0tail graciously recognized the Kiev crowd’s positive reception, underlining their infectious engagement and enthusiastic involvement that elevated the tournament experience for both players and fans alike.

“But there’s been a lot of good crowds for sure. Kiev was nice in a way. They definitely cheered more for Virtus.pro when we played in the finals, but they also cheered for us when we played other teams.”
