Velocity Gaming Dominates VCL SA Qualifiers with 4-0 Record

Velocity Gaming Esports (VLT) secured their spot in the main event of VCL SA by completing a dominating run in the qualifiers, winning all four of their matches without dropping a single map. On the other hand, MLT Esports failed to make it to the main event after going 1-3 in the tournament.

Roster and Map Veto

VLT’s roster consisted of Sagnik “Hellff” Roy, Debanjan “DEATHMAKER” Das, Karan “Excali” Mhaswadkar, Domagoj “Doma” Fancev, Adam “ec1s” Eccles as the IGL, and Anuj “Amaterasu” Sharma (Sub). Meanwhile, MLT’s roster included Atharv “Rio” Ahire as the IGL, Saharyar “BadmaN” Shaikh, Abhay “KnightRider” Mulchandani, Jay “BADlove” Patil, and Venkatesh “Venka” Sharma.

For the map veto, MLT and VLT banned Lotus and Ascent, respectively. MLT picked Haven while VLT chose Pearl. They then banned Split and Fracture, making Icebox the last map to be played.

Match Recap

In the first map, Haven, VLT won the pistol round and took a 3-0 lead. However, MLT managed to bounce back and win four consecutive rounds on attack, but VLT regained their momentum and ended the first half 7-5. VLT won the second half without dropping a single round, securing the map 13-6.

On Pearl, MLT won the pistol round, but VLT managed to win an eco round and dominated the entire half, finishing it with a 9-3 lead. MLT won the pistol round again, but VLT secured the next two rounds, including a thrifty win. VLT was leading 12-6 when MLT activated the 9-3 curse and equalized the score at 12-12, forcing an overtime. Despite MLT’s efforts, VLT managed to secure the win with Deathmaker and Ec1s’s outstanding performance, ending the map 15-13.

MLT’s Struggle

MLT struggled throughout the tournament, winning only one match against UDR. However, they showed great resilience and almost managed to secure a win against VLT on Pearl. Venka’s triple kills were the highlight of the map, but they could not convert it into a win.

VLT’s Dominance

VLT’s dominance throughout the tournament was remarkable. They did not drop a single map and won all four matches convincingly. Doma’s triple kill in the second round of Haven was the highlight of the first map, and Deathmaker’s almost successful 1 vs 4 clutch on Pearl was the highlight of the second map.

In conclusion, VLT’s dominating run in the VCL SA qualifiers secured their spot in the main event, while MLT’s poor performance resulted in their elimination from the tournament. VLT’s outstanding performance throughout the tournament makes them one of the teams to watch out for in the main event.
