The Regular Season finds its end as more teams earned their spot at Groups in the LEC’s final Winter superweek .
In light of the recent crisis in Turkey, the LEC announced that the Turkish Championship League would be paused. Members of the EMEA League team will be working with the local authorities to presume at a later date.
Team BDS vs Heretics
Extremely volatile mid lane picks resulted in an extremely close match-up.
An early-game teamfight gave BDS first blood. Evi and Jankos worked to maintain a threatening lead on toplane, and used their massive fighting power to lay claim to the first Herald. Labrov’s Ashe ult gave his team an impressive pick across the map, but Sheo and Adam’s Sett answered every enemy kill in efficient style. The constant back-and-forth continued past drake objectives and teamfight after teamfight until BDS victoriously took their 5th win and their guaranteed spot at the Groups stage.

KOI vs Astralis
KOI pinched another win in the second game of the day as Astralis once again found themselves completely outmatched as a team.
You can’t play passively for long when you’re up against one of the LEC’s best. Even when they found themselves surrounded, Larssen’s Sylas decimated anyone who stood in his way. And while they tried keeping their distance and avoided any sort of committed fight 15 minutes in, KOI focused on objectives uncontested. This allowed them to completely dominate each and every skirmish until they eventually took over AST’s base. Superior macroplay and map control from blue side.

SK Gaming vs Fnatic
SK Gaming gave the crowd another satisfying match as they held their own against FNC’s aggressive teamfight tactics.
Well-played engagements gave SK free reign over the jungle nearly the entire game. The continuous give and take between the two teams finally came to a head when a 1000 gold difference against Fnatic forced the team to play conservatively. Humanoid kept getting isolated which thwarted any play they might have had to turn things around. The chaotic fight forced FNC to mostly stay under their towers while SK split pushed and found a Baron to close out the game.
Fnatic will not be entering the bracket stage for the first time in the organization’s history.

MAD and G2’s competitive head-to-head records helped to make a bloodthirsty match between the heavy-hitters.
A dead even score 8 minutes in was broken by Mikyx and Caps’s Swain. After first blood, a hot contest for dragon almost saw another G2 death, but each team anticipated each and every move from the other. G2’s team comp made it difficult to maintain any extended teamfight however. In the end, they couldn’t find any substantial counters as MAD Lions capitalized on every slight advantage to secure Herald and punch straight though the enemy midlane in the fastest game of the day.

Team Vitality vs Excel
VIT vs XL remained an extremely close game all the way through.
The game absolutely went wild on the 15th minute when a teamfight erupted over Herald. The final game of the day climbed in score while both teams scrambled for first place. Photon let VIT gain the upper hand while the rest of the team tool Elder Dragon and crashed against the tier 3 mid turret. Being unable to close the game immediately, XL was able to regroup and carry the creep score in a tense, drawn-out back and forth that listed for 54 minutes.
