Payday 3 Microtransactions and Season Pass Explained

After the debate around the need for players to always be online, which caused many to dread the worst, Starbreeze Studios has clarified how Payday 3 microtransactions and Season Pass will work once the game hits the market.

How will Payday 3 microtransactions and Season Pass work?

There will be two sorts of Season Passes in Pay Day 3: the Silver one will give the first six months’ worth of DLC, which includes two robberies, two tailor packs, and two weapon packs. This information is provided in the game’s revised official FAQ. A year’s worth of DLC, including four robberies, four tailor packages, and four weapon packages, may be downloaded with the Gold Season Pass, on the other hand.

Instead, the microtransactions will let you use real money to purchase Payday Credits, which can then be used to purchase cosmetic things. Since these items only change the characters’ appearance and not how the game plays, they are considered to be purely aesthetic. In conclusion, it appears that Starbreeze has decided to adhere to a somewhat typical economic model for live service multiplayer games.

The fundamental requirement of constantly having an internet connection is still in place and applies to the single-player campaign as well. It should be noted that Payday 2 has gained notoriety as an online game, therefore it is likely that this is what the community who follows it and eagerly anticipates the third part is most interested in. In this instance, it appears that the single-player mode is more of a bonus than the game’s primary experience.

For the rest, we remind you that Payday 3 is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S and will be available starting September 21, 2023.
