25

We kept you waiting long enough: the time has come to unveil the two best teams of our Overwatch League 2022 Power Rankings. Coming in second place is the team that won the silver medal last year, Seoul Dynasty.

Seoul Dynasty 2022 Roster

For the 2022 Season, Seoul Dynasty has a balanced roster. The team signed a total of 6 players, 3 of them staying with the team for the second year in a row.

Tank

  • Myeong-hwan “smurf” Yoo

As Overwatch 2 only requires one tank per team, Myeong-hwan “smurf” Yoo is the sole tank player for Seoul Dynasty this season. The back-to-back Overwatch League Champion is leaving San Francisco Shock to lead the charge with Seoul Dynasty. Smurf masters a large range of tank heroes but he shines more on main tanks, especially Winston.

Support

  • Young-wan “Creative” Kim
  • Jun-woo “Vindaim” Park

Young-wan “Creative” Kim stays as the flex support player of Seoul Dynasty for a third Overwatch League season. Creative mainly plays Ana and Baptiste but is also able to click heads with Zenyatta.

Jun-woo “Vindaim” Park joins Creative as the new main support player of the team. He won the Korean Overwatch Contenders 2021 Season 1 and 2 with O2 Blast. He played a lot of Brigitte with this team, but he is also able to pull out an efficient Lucio to boost his team and mess with his enemies.

DPS

  • Dong-eon “FITS” Kim
  • Joon-yeong “Profit” Park
  • Hak-yong “Stalk3r” Jeong

Dong-eon “FITS” Kim and Joon-yeong “Profit” Park are the iconic DPS duo of Seoul Dynasty. The team kept both players for this new season, guaranteeing a seamless synergy on its DPS line. FITS mainly plays hitscan heroes like Cassidy or Ashe. He is also able to flex to Sombra to flank enemy lines.

But the real flanker of the team is Profit. His signature Tracer is a deadly threat to enemy support players. Combined with the powerful dive of smurf on his Winston, Profit is able to secure an early kill and give his team an edge before engaging in a fight.

Joining FITS and Profit on the DPS lineup of Seoul Dynasty is Hak-yong “Stalk3r” Jeong. The player is making his debut in the Overwatch League, after three years of playing with Gen. G in the Korean Overwatch Contenders. He is now promoted from the academy team to the main roster of Seoul Dynasty after proving himself able to flex on several heroes. Stalk3r has the potential to become a great player, but he may end up warming the bench most of the time as FITS and Profit will probably stay in the starting five.

Coaches

  • Jin-mo “tobi” Yang
  • Hyeong-seok “WizardHyeong” Kim
  • Seong-won “MMA” Mun
  • Bong-gu “Bongwoori” Lee

As for the coaching staff, Jin-mo “tobi” Yang is the new Head Coach of Seoul Dynasty. Prior to becoming a coach, tobi played 3 years with Seoul Dynasty as a support player, before joining Philadelphia Fusion for one season. Seong-won “MMA” Mun and Bong-gu “Bongwoori” Lee will be assisting tobi.

Joining tobi is Hyeong-seok “WizardHyeong” Kim, Head of Strategy and Data Coach for Seoul Dynasty. This coach is used to the Overwatch League, as he helped NYXL during their Inaugural Season, before coaching Washington Justice and Seoul Dynasty.

Seoul Dynasty 2022 Power Rankings

Seoul Dynasty offers a promising lineup for the Overwatch League 2022 Season. The team kept the core of its roster, despite the departure of the team captain Jae-hee “Gesture” Hong during the off-season.

The biggest change in Seoul Dynasty 2022 vs 2021 is its support line. Creative is staying with the team for one more season, but Taesung “Anamo” Jung left for Florida Mayhem. The team signed superstar Sung-hyeon “JJoNak” Bang to replace Anamo, but the player stepped down from competitive Overwatch before the beginning of the season.

Of course, the switch of meta between the classic Overwatch and Overwatch 2 also has an impact on Seoul Dynasty’s 2022 Power Rankings. Teams now have a single tank, instead of two to lead the charge. Smurf, the tank player for Seoul Dynasty, has a large hero pool that allows him to adapt to most situations and help his team take the lead.

Seoul Dynasty won the Overwatch League 2022 Kickoff Clash, the first tournament of this new season. The team should be able to reach the Grand Finals, but snatching the title is a bigger challenge than winning a monthly tournament.
