Niko Announces Free Agency Following OG Stint

Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen is now a free agent after ending his stand-in spell at OG

After fulfilling his stand-in responsibilities for OG, Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen has announced his availability for new challenges. The Danish rifler rejoined OG in February and took on the role of captain during the BLAST.tv Paris Major cycle. He stepped in for Nemanja “nexa” Isaković, who had decided to temporarily step back from competition due to personal reasons and is yet to make a comeback.

With niko at the helm, OG performed admirably. The European team adeptly navigated the rigorous qualifiers of the BLAST.tv Paris Major, earning themselves a coveted place in the highly anticipated $1.25 million tournament. Unfortunately, their journey concluded with a 20th-22nd place finish in the Challengers Stage, recording a 1-3 record.

Despite originally being recruited as a substitute for the BLAST.tv Paris Major, niko remained with OG as they traveled to IEM Dallas. Leading the team, he guided them to a solid 7-8th place finish, marking the end of the season for the squad.

With niko’s departure and Shahar “flameZ” Shushan reportedly considering other opportunities as his contract nears its conclusion, OG faces the task of revamping their roster in the upcoming off-season. The CSPPA’s player break, scheduled from June 12 to July 9, is set to begin in a few days, marking the start of this transitional period.
