Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks secured the MVP title on his first-ever encounter against former teammates at FPX

The North Americans mostly dominated the NRG vs NAVI matchup, a game where Kyrylo “ANGE1” Karasov and his teammates gasped for air throughout the entire series. Although Lotus was the only close map in the Bo3, NAVI had to bring the score to their favor from a disappointing 1-8 start. Split looked even worse, as the European only managed to get two rounds to their name on defense.

The former teammate of NAVI’s core roster, Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks, was the hero of this series with a 1.13 rating and an ACS of 236. When asked about his feeling in a post-match interview, ardiis expressed his thoughts about defeating former teammates.

“Honestly, I knew we were going to win. We’re the better team, and I’m happy to beat my ex-teammates.” ardiis was part of FPX’s roster last year, where he played alongside ANGE1, and the majority of the current NAVI’s line except Mehmet “cNed” İpek, who joined after the Duelist’s departure.

He was also inquired about ANGE1’s calling, where he praised his former IGL’s strategies while preferring current captain Pujan “FiNESSE” Mehta’s style – “I knew ANGE1’s going to be a good caller, and honestly it was a tough game, but I knew in the end that FNS (FiNESSE), the goat, he’s the goat.”
