Valve releases massive update to CS2 for June 2023 » TalkEsport

Counter-Strike 2 has finally been revealed by Valve after several weeks of speculation around the same. Prior to the announcement, data miners were able to spot changes in the databases that read “today” building upon the hype for the former.

Valve’s highly anticipated “Counter-Strike 2” is set to make its debut with a limited test that started right ahead of its launch. The game promises a complete overhaul to every system and every piece of content, bringing with it the largest technical leap forward in the history of the franchise.

How to Get the Counter-Strike 2 Beta Limited Test Access?

To participate in the CS2 Limited Test, you have to receive an invitation. Only those who receive an invitation can try out the beta version of Counter-Strike 2. There is no other way to get early access. A notice will appear on the CSGO main menu for players who have been selected to participate in the Counter-Strike 2 playtest.

How would you know whether or not you are one of those fortunate players?

Players are reportedly chosen by the Counter-Strike 2 development team based on a variety of criteria, including but not limited to recent participation on Valve-approved servers, trust factor, and Steam account status.

On your CSGO menu page, after you see the invitation, click “Enroll” to begin downloading the beta which is around 15GB. To play the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test, run CSGO when the download is finished, then choose the “Limited Test” option.

Counter-Strike 2 would be released this summer alongside a promise of an “overhaul to every system, every piece of content, and every part of the experience.”

When will Counter-Strike 2 launch?

Valve has revealed that Counter-Strike 2 will be released in the summer of 2023.

Data miners have discovered that the game might see the light of the day,  starting from June 14 onwards and its beta will be made available to the public. However, on June 6th, a new update to the limited-test build was released, which included the map Mirage. It’s highly improbable that this testing phase will continue no longer than a week.

After compiling all of the data, we have concluded that the most likely release date for CS2 is the month of August. The original Counter-Strike was published on August 21, 2012, thus having CS2 come out on the same date in 2023 would be a fun easter egg.

Don’t panic, though, if you didn’t get the invitation; additional players will be added to the Limited Test over time. Keep an eye on the main menu in CSGO to see whether you’ve received an invite.
