Ocarina is maybe the most iconic out of all Zelda games. The title redefined the series and set the standard for the 3D age of gaming. Its impact stretches much further than other Zelda titles. If you want to dress Link up like the Hero of Time, you can do that in TOTK. You’ll have to track down the Ocarina of Time outfit in TOTK.

The Ocarina of Time Outfit in TOTK
In Tears of the Kingdom, there are a few different sets of old-fashioned armor you can pick up. these are clothes which make Link resemble his past self or other reincarnations much more closely. There’s the Armor of the Hero in TOTK, that more closely resembles the really retro Legend of Zelda outfit from the early titles. Then there are a few that turn Link into his self from more recent games too, like the Ocarina of Time outfit in TOTK.
It’s divided up into three different items. There’s the Cap of Time, the Tunic of Time, and the Trousers of Time. Each of these resembles a piece of the Kokiri outfit that Link wears throughout Ocarina of Time. Raised by the forest people, Link’s iconic outfit originates with them in earlier Zelda games. Although, they’ve evolved to be kind of leaf people in Tears of the Kingdom and earlier games like Wind Waker.
The Ocarina of Time outfit in TOTK isn’t brand new. The same set was available In Breath of the Wild, this armor was a nostalgic feature locked behind an amiibo of Ocarina Link. That amiibo usually sold out whenever it came into stock so it wasn’t the easiest to get outside of NFC spoofing. In TOTK it’s much easier to access though!
How to Get the Ocarina of Time Outfit in TOTKT
You won’t need the Ocarina of Time Link Amiibo to get the Ocarina of Time outfit in TOTK. Instead, you’ll need to head on an adventure through TOTK’s expansive map, journeying into the depths below Hyrule. Before you make a start though, there are a few things you should have with you.
The first is the Brightbloom seeds. These are the items that illuminate the dark in the depths until you find the Lightroot. You’ll need enough of these to make a longer journey through the underground. On top of that, one of the pieces is in an area with extreme heat. Some flamebreaker armor might be helpful here, that or a whole lot of healing items. Knowing some of the main Tears of the Kingdom tips can help too.
The actual route to get Ocarina of Time outfits in TOTK is split into these three parts.
How to Get the Trousers of Time in TOTK
The first step to get the Ocarina of Time outfit in Tears of the Kingdom is the Trousers. These are the simplest piece to get. You’ll need to head to the area below Gerudo Canyon, the mine in the depths. They’re roughly located at -4180, -0697, -1121.
You can get to this spot by heading in through the Gerudo Summit Chasm and moving southeast towards the chest. There are a lot of distractions down in the Depths, but you can probably head directly over to the chest if you want to get things done quickly!
How to get the Ocarina of Time in TOTK – The Tunic
The next step to getting the Ocarina of Time outfit in TOTK is the Tunic. This main piece is one of the most iconic in that game. In OoT, it only came off when players were in the Fire and Water temples. It’s also fairly easy to find here. You won’t have to go too far into the depths to get it. This one is in a chest in Lindor Canyon Mine. That’s at -2002, -1309, -0715.
You can get here by heading into the Hyrule Ridge Chasm. This is close to the Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower. From here, head north and east over to the lightroot down here. From that lightroot, continue in the same direction. You’ll soon find a chest on a pedestal. Inside the chest is the Tunic of Time!
How to Get the Cap of Time in TOTK
The final step to get the Ocarina of Time outfit in TOTK is to pick up the Cap of Time. This is Link’s hat! An element of his costume that’s been ditched by the series in most recent instalments. It’s also the hardest of these three items to get.
This one is located in the depths of Sherifin’s Lavafalls. Its coordinates are at -4078, -2799. -0450. This is a bit of a longer route to find a decent entrance! This is how you can get through to it.
Head into the Hyrule Ridge Chasm, then go northeast to Tikanur Lightroot. From here, keep heading northwest to roughly the canyon entrance, then head north. Eventually, you’ll get to Kawumoro Lightroot. Then head west to a ledge before north to So-oaw Lightroot. After this next lightroot, you’ll need to go west until you reach a Battle Talus! After this, head north to Nupisoyuat Lightroot. Once you hit the lava falls, follow the root upwards and you’ll eventually get to the spot! That’s where the chest is, on top of a rock pillar next to a full pit of lava.
That’s how you can get up to the final piece of the armor. It’s a bit of a journey to find the Ocarina of Time outfit in TOTK. Once you complete it though, you’ll be able to put on the full Orcarina outfit for the rest of Tears of the Kingdom! If you can get Epona in Tears of the Kingdom too, you can complete the full Ocarina of Time look for Link.
Retro Zelda Armor in Tears of the Kingdom
Tears of the Kingdom is taking the nostalgic easter eggs in Zelda up a notch! Breath of the Wild had a lot of items in there, but you had to purchase amiibo to unlock them. Moving them to chests in-game lets everyone collect them. It’s a lot more fun than just swiping a figurine.
