Ethos Steps Up, NRG Selects Popular Streamer as Substitute for Valorant Team

NRG is making major moves in the offseason to bolster its Valorant team.

Popular streamer, Ethos is replacing thwifo as the 6th man for NRG’s Valorant roster.

According to the Global Contract Database, NRG has added one of its content creators, Alan “ethos” Ruan, as a substitute player on their professional Valoranth roster.

The decision was made following the departure of NRG’s former sixth man, Zander “thwifo” Kim, on March 13. Ethos will take the place of thwifo at the upcoming VCT Americas 2023 as a sub.

Ethos steps into the spotlight

Ethos is a popular streamer on Twitch, where he plays Valorant as a content creator for NRG. He has more than half a million followers on Twitch, accompanied by a successful YouTube channel with 500K+ subscribers.

Although ethos regularly plays Valorant at the highest level, he has little experience in professional Valorant compared to his teammates at NRG. His most recent attempt at ‘Skwirel Warriers’ showed the potential of raw skill as he performed considerably well for someone who lacks experience at a professional level.

Considering we have never seen thwifo play after he joined as a substitute player for NRG, it is unlikely that ethos will need to appear on the stage for the upcoming events.
