Dead Island 2 Sells 1 Million Copies Over Launch Weekend

It looks like Slayers think Dead Island 2 was worth the wait.

After nearly a decade of delays and passing through the hands of several development studios, Dead Island 2 was finally released on April 21. After an exciting launch weekend, Deep Silver Damebuster Studios has announced that more than a million Slayers have taken a trip to Hell-A since Dead Island 2’s release. Many people had doubts about how well a Dead Island game in 2023 would be, but these numbers talk.

Dead Island 2’s launch hasn’t been without issues, most notably the delay of Gold, Deluxe, and Hell-A pre-order customers not receiving all of their goodies (And apparently won’t be receiving them until possibly the summer), but overall, reception to the cult classic sequel has been mostly positive.

Take A Trip To Hell-A For 10% Off

If you didn’t pre-order Dead Island 2 but are looking to head for Hell-A yourself after seeing some early reviews, Fanatical has something you might be interested in: Dead Island 2’s first sale.

From now until May 5, Fanatical is running a deal on Dead Island 2, which gives you 10% off the Standard, Deluxe, or Gold Editions of Dead Island 2. Not too shabby, given the game is less than a week old.

Congratulations to Dead Island 2 and Damebuster Studios for the successful launch. It took over a decade, but it looks like Dead Island is finally receiving some mainstream recognition.
