An upcoming Mobile Legends tournament is set to take place real soon, and it will spot a RM40,000 (~$10,000) prize pool for winners.
To support female gamers across the region, IGN Southeast Asia and Facebook Gaming have teamed up to host the tournament, which will prioritise teams that consist of women.
The tournament, also known as Squad Up Athena, is open to gamers in Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, and Indonesia.
Interested participants can apply to join the qualifiers, which will take place from December 18th to 20th.
The National finals will take place on the following dates:
- 7th January 2022 for Singapore and Malaysia
- 8th January 2022 for Indonesia
- 9th January for the Philippines.
The international finals will take place on 15th January 2022.
Both national and international finals will be live-streamed to the public via the IGN Southeast Asia’s Facebook Page.
Squad Up Athena participation rules
- This tournament is open to all ages.
- Players that are categorized as minors in their respective countries should obtain permission from parents or guardians.
- Each team must consist of at least minimum 3 female players.
- For the reserve player slot, only a female player is allowed.
- Only 1 “PRO PLAYER” is allowed to participate per team.
(Definition of pro player by the Tournament Committee is those players that have been competing in any official professional tournaments for the past 6 months or 180 Days)
