Esports Betting in August 2022

The summer drought is no more! August is coming in hot (quite literally if you’re living in Europe) with more than a few AAA esports events. Pretty much all big games have at least one massive event this month. This is what esports betting enthusiasts have been waiting for – let’s see which events you can bet on in August 2022!

Biggest Esports Events for Betting in August

July hasn’t been the best month for esports. There were a few big events, but it’s nothing compared to what the month of August has to offer.

Here are the eight biggest events for esports betting in August 2022:

BLAST Premier Fall Group Stage

BLAST Premier Fall Group Stage is the first post-summer-break CSGO tournament. It’s safe to say CSGO fans are eagerly anticipating this online competition. It’s going to come after a month-long break, so the eyes of the world will be watching this one.

With $177,500 in prize money, group stages of BLAST Premier events aren’t the most lucrative events. But, they do offer direct spots in the season Finals which offers a much heftier prize pool.

The six best teams, two from each group, will get their Fall Finals tickets. The remaining teams will have to go through the Fall Showdown which is scheduled for October. Right now, we still don’t know what the groups will look like. We know that the format will be as usual – three groups of four teams played in a double-elimination bracket.

VRL 2022 Finals

The odds for betting on VRL 2022 Finals are already up. If you’re interested in a more detailed look into this highly anticipated Valorant tournament, make sure you check out our betting guide.

We’re looking at a tier B event here, one that is in no way connected to the Valorant Champions Tour. But, that’s where some of its charm lies, if we’re being perfectly honest. It’s a tier B event, but it’s not a small one. There’s €150,000 in prize money, which is more than enough to push these teams to their maximum.

Vitality, Excel and Fut Are the Heavy Favorites Coming Into This Tournament

The bookies don’t see any differences between Vitality and EXCEL and currently have them at identical outright winner odds. FUT is right behind them, with the rest of the pack seemingly pretty distant from the top spot.

The VRL 2022 action starts on July 28th and will last through August 7th. It will feature just seven top-tier European teams. But it’s bound to provide plenty of excitement, though don’t expect the same production quality as you’d get from big VCT events.

PGL Arlington Major

PGL Arlington Major is the second Dota 2 Major of the 2021/22 DPC season. Esports Stadium Arlington is, of course, the venue of choice for this Dota 2 special. The rankings are pretty tight and the eighteen participants will have to do their best to snatch as many DPC points as they can.

On the technical side, we’re looking at a two-phase tournament. The group stage will feature two groups of nine teams and pin everyone in a single round-robin system. All matches are bo2, meaning draws will be of vital importance here.

The top four teams from each group will go to the upper bracket while the fifth and sixth teams will go to the lower bracket. The remaining six teams will bid their farewells to Arlington.

As for the playoffs, we’re looking at a double-elimination bracket with bo3 matches, with grand finals set for a bo5 spectacle. If you’re interested in placing some Dota 2 betting tickets this summer, PGL Major Arlington is a no-brainer.

PSG.LGD are the favorites, followed by Tundra, Spirit, and Extreme. OG are up there too, according to the bookies, which means we could be in for another Cinderella story. You’ve heard it here first, eh!?

RLCS World Championship

August 4th through August 14th. Mark that down in your calendar if you’re a Rocket League esports fan. Those are the two most important dates of this year’s RLCS World Championship – the start date and the grand finals.

If you look at the outright winner betting odds, Moist Esports are the favorites coming into this competition. They are closely followed by NRG, G2, and Falcons.

Who do you think will win this year’s RLCS World Championship? Tells u in the comments section down below!

Six Berlin Major

Six Berlin Major is not to be forgotten either. Even though we have plenty of big tournaments to talk about as far as esports betting in August is concerned, Six Berlin Major has to be in the discussion. It gathers all the biggest Rainbow Six teams and pins them against each other for quite a hefty prize pool.

We know, it’s not exactly as big as Six Invitational’s… but still. We can’t forget about SI points too. The rankings currently have DarkZero and Astralis leading the charge, but things are bound to change following the end of this one.

Unfortunately, we still don’t have concrete betting odds for the Six Berlin Major outright winner. The tournament starts on August 15th, so there’s still plenty of time for bookies to address this. All in all, the hottest Rainbow Six event this summer is bound to have proper betting coverage.

ESL Pro League Season 16

Right after the end of the summer break, CSGO fans will get a real treat. No, we’re not talking about BLAST Premier Fall Finals again, we’re talking about the all-new season of ESL Pro League.

It’s a massive event, set to last for more than a month. The action starts on the last day of August and will run all the way through October 2nd. So, if you’re not enthusiastic about the group stage of BLAST Fall, ESL Pro League Season 16 ought to be more up your alley.

As things stand now, Faze Clan and NaVi are the biggest favorites. However, things could change from now till the start of the event. Form is a vile mistress, and I’m sure the best CSGO teams are well aware of that.

But, there’s still a long wait ahead of us. In fact,  we don’t even know the location of this event. At the moment, we don’t even have any outright winner odds. It’s not surprising, considering the fact there are five more weeks till the opening group stage matches. Once we get more information about the group stage, CSGO bookies will give us the rest.

Call of Duty League Championship

The 2022 CDL Championship will last from August 4th through August 7th. Eight best CDL teams who’ve shown what they’re made of this season will get a chance to fight for the most prestigious event in the game’s competitive ecosystem.

Los Angeles is the city of choice; Galen Center is the venue. $2,550,000 is on the line, with $1,200,000 going to the winning team. All matches are set for bo5 contests except the best-of-nine grand finals. The latter is scheduled for August 7th, of course, but we still don’t know the exact start time.

As for Call of Duty betting lines, numerous bookmakers already offer futures on this tournament. Atlanta Faze, LA Thieves, and OpTic Texas are the three front runners. According to the bookies, Atlanta Faze are the prime candidates, though LA and Texas aren’t too far behind either.

All in all, the pinnacle of the 2022 CDL season is just around the corner. If you’re a Call of Duty fan, you ought to be at the edge of your seat ahead of this one.

What About League of Legends?

Riot Games now has several esports titles to take care of, the biggest of which are definitely Valorant and League of Legends. We’ve already covered the big Valorant event next month. What about League of Legends, though?

Worry not – there will be plenty of LoL betting odds available in August. The Summer Split is still in full flow, with the most exciting part of the season just around the corner. For all you LoL betting lovers out there, August is going to be a great month.

Lots of Bets to Explore

There are lots of events to explore in August. Lots of bets to place too – July wasn’t that packed with esports action, but August will definitely change that. We already have plenty of outrights to choose from. RLCS WC, VRL Finals, CDL Championship – you name it. Once we have more information about the matchups, I’m sure the bookies won’t take too long to give us some individual match bets to explore.

What are your thoughts on the biggest esports events for betting in August? Which are your favorites? Tell us more in the comments section down below.

Until next time,

May the odds be in your favor!
