Biggest Esports Events in 2023

It’s not easy to point a finger in one single direction and announce the biggest 2023 esports event. How come? Well, the competitive esports environment is constantly changing and new events are being announced left and right. But, what we can do is go through the biggest esports franchises and focus on their premier events.

We can safely assume that the vast majority of the most popular events that have taken place in the past are going to continue this year. Heck, some of them have already been announced. Whether you’re looking for information regarding betting on esports in 2023 or you’re just interested in what you’ll be able to watch this year, the following two lists are bound to help you out.

Biggest Esports Events in 2023

Conventional esports (desktop or console-based tournaments) are still the main course, though the rising popularity of mobile esports is inevitably going to shake the industry to its core. For now, let’s check out the best desktop-based 2023 esports events:

Dota 2 The International

The Internationals always have a special place on online esports betting sites. It’s no wonder, really, since we’re talking about some of the most lucrative events out there. Even though competitive Dota 2 is in decline, the biggest event is there to improve the overall picture.

Unfortunately, We Don’t Know Much About This Year’s Iteration

All we know is that it’s going to be held (somewhere) and that it will have 18 participants. The format should be identical (or very similar) to last year’s TI, so there will be no surprises in that department.

BLAST Paris Major

That’s right – BLAST Is going to host its first-ever CSGO Major Championship this year. BLAST.tv Paris Major is the name and the start date is scheduled for May 8th. 24 teams, the usual Major format, and a slightly higher prize pool than one might think at first. Instead of $1 million, BLAST Paris Major is set to feature $1.25 million.

The winner won’t just get $500,000 in prize money but also a direct invitation for the IEM Cologne 2023 spectacle. But, of course, there’s more to winning the Major than cash prizes and invitations. It’s a special occasion, the biggest one in CSGO competitive scene. Winning the Major is what every professional player dreams about, which is why it’s always regarded as the biggest event in the game’s competitive scene.

2023 LoL Worlds

Moving on with the biggest 2023 esports events, we can’t forget about the League of Legends World Championship. Of course, the entire LoL competitive season is important, but nothing beats the charm nor the popularity of LoL Worlds.

Last year’s four-city approach turned out to be a massive hit. At the moment, though, we don’t know much information about this year’s installment. However, we can safely assume it will start sometime in September or October.

As for League of Legends betting options, you don’t have to wait for LoL Worlds to place your bets. LoL is one of the most popular esports betting markets, with in-depth coverage all year long. No matter which championship you’re following, be it LCS, LEC, LCK or something else, you’ll have no issues finding online esports bets.

VCT Champions

It did not take too long for Valorant to establish itself as one of the world’s biggest esports franchises. Even though many were skeptical, the Valorant esports scene has shown it can go toe to toe with the biggest franchises out there.

A big part of that is thanks to the VCT Champions event. Last year’s iteration was absolutely phenomenal. Istanbul’s Volkswagen Arena was packed and had an electric atmosphere from start to finish. This year, the VCT Champions event is bound to be even better.

Unfortunately, we still don’t have any concrete information about the event itself. But, we should get more information on it following the end of the Sao Paulo Lock In event in early March.

2023 RLCS World Championship

Even though it’s not as popular as it used to be, the Rocket League esports scene is still alive. In fact, 2022/23 RLCS World Championship has already been announced. We know all the details so let’s jump right into it:

August 4th is the big date – the starting date of the biggest Rocket League esports event this year. 24 teams are set to perform on this event, but at the time being we still don’t have a single officially qualified name. Nothing surprising, though, considering we still have two Majors to go through.

$2.1 million is in the prize pool of this one. $600,000 will go to the winning team, $400,000 for the runner-up. Semifinalists will get $200,000 each, nicely rounding off the top four narratives. For those interested in betting on esports in 2023, RLCS World Championship is bound to have impressive coverage.

Biggest Mobile Esports Events in 2023

Now let’s check out the biggest events this year which are focusing on the mobile side of things:

M4 World Championship

Mobile Legends is becoming a household name in the world of mobile esports. We’re looking at one of the fastest-growing games of such type, racking in massive viewership and hefty prize pools. January 1st marked the kickoff of the M4 World Championship, with the final date scheduled for January 15th.

M4 World Championship features 16 world-class teams battling it out for a whopping $800,000 in prize money. $300,000 is the grand prize, which is an absolutely huge number for an MLBB event. As far as 2023 esports events are concerned, mobile esports fans ought to be satisfied with this one. It’s already live and there are plenty of esports bets to be made. Good luck!

PUBG Mobile Global Championship

The 2022 PUBG Mobile Global Championship is underway. We’re talking about one of the biggest events of 2022 with $4 million in prize money. As things stand right now, the PUBG mobile community is waiting for January 6th. The final three days of the event are scheduled for the grand finals.

Only sixteen teams are left, all ready for another set of 18 rounds. Jakarta International Expo is the grand finals’ venue. However, previous matches were held at the Battle Arena. Things are bound to heat up even more when the action kicks off in Jakarta on Jan 6th.

Wrapping Things Up

There you have it, lads! These are the seven most highly anticipated esports events in 2023. You can expect lots of betting options for each of them. Online betting on esports is still growing in popularity. As we all know, where there’s demand, there will be betting options.
