Fortnite Patch v20.20

Learn everything you need to know about the latest Fortnite update in Chapter 3 Season 2.

Fortnite patch v20.20 went live early this morning, following a brief downtime period. The last update kicked off a battle between Resistance forces and The Imagined Order (IO) at Condo Canyon. That has changed, and Epic Games used this opportunity to start another in-game scrap. Furthermore, there’s a new Shotgun available in public matches alongside a new funding effort for players to decide.

Today, ESTNN looks at everything new and different in patch v20.20 in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2.

New Ranger Shotgun Finally Revealed

The Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 trailer teased a new Shotgun that players were eager to trial. It looked similar to the traditional Shotgun, but it contained one shot per magazine like last season’s Heavy version. The new Ranger Shotgun follows a similar formula. It deals a ton of damage with one shot before requiring players to reload, making it the ultimate reward for accuracy.

You can find the Ranger Shotgun on the ground, in Chests, Supply Drops, Loot Sharks and via NPCs. The weapon is not available in the competitive loot pool, but could join later.

The Battle for Coney Crossroads

The Resistance triumphed in the Battle of Condo Canyon. That location’s IO Blimp has now crashed, and a new battle has taken shape at Coney Crossroads. Players that land at this POI will find the Resistance and IO battling for dominance. That also means the Huntmaster Saber NPC on the Blimp armed with his Mythic Thermal Assault Rifle.

Expect more chaos than usual at the Coney Crossroads location for the next few days. This storyline element does not apply to competitive game modes. Also, you can now fund the Armored Battle Bus and Turrets at Condo Canyon following another Resistance victory.

Funding Effort: Boogie Bomb vs. Rift-To-Go

Last time out, the MK-Seven Assault Rifle dominated the Combat Assault Rifle in the funding effort contest. The MK7 is now a permanent addition to this season’s loot pool. The following funding effort pits the Boogie Bomb against the Rift-To-Go this week. Epic has unvaulted both items temporarily from April 22 to April 25, ahead of the voting period.

Once that period ends, you’ll find donation boards in-game, where you can part with your Gold Bars to support one of these two items. Head over to any major POI to locate these boards. The first to reach the funding goal will then enter the loot pool. As usual, this funding effort will not occur in competitive game modes.

Secret Ops Quests

The Origin character has his own set of Quests, which will begin on April 22 at 9 AM EST. These are specific to Zero Build mode. You must complete each Quest ahead of a pre-defined time to earn the ultimate pickaxe reward. Each Quest description won’t be available until it goes live in-game.

Here is a list of those Quests:

  • Quest One: April 22 at 9 AM EST to April 26 at 8:59 AM EST
  • Quest Two: April 26 at 9 AM EST to April 28 at 8:59 AM EST
  • Quest Three: April 28 at 9 AM EST to April 30 at 8:59 AM EST
  • Quest Four: April 30 at 9 AM EST to May 2 at 8:59 AM EST
  • Reward: Secret Sledge Pickaxe

Bug Fixes

Here is a list of bugs addressed in patch v20.20:

  • Fixed an issue involving constant controller vibration after exiting a Motorboat on land mid-boost.
  • Fixed an issue involving an inability to slide if “Toggle Sprint” was set to “Off.”

That covers everything you need to know about the latest Fortnite patch. Stay tuned to ESTNN for more Fortnite news and updates!
