How to Get the Mythic Drum Shotgun
The Fortnite Mythic Drum Shotgun is a new addition in the Chapter 4 Season 3 patch notes. This is a Mythic, which means it’s a one (or a couple in team games) of a kind weapon. It’s a gun which handles similarly to the standard Drum in its Gold variety but has increased stats only available in one place.

Mythic Drum Shotgun Location
The Mythic Drum Shotgun is kind of a replacement for the Havoc Pump Mythic, but it’s available in a different place. This gun isn’t in the Fortnite vaults even though they’ve come back this season. Instead, it’s only accessible through a special POI.
The Fortnite Mythic Shotgun in Chapter 4 Season 3 is available through the floating isle rift in POI. This is the rift-in POI which appears towards the end of each game. Somewhere in the safe storm circle on the third or fourth circle, you’ll begin to see rift in indicators. It isn’t a boss or a Fortnite NPC dropping in though. It’s an entire island with a house on top.
Getting to the Island
The first step for how to get the Mythic Drum Shotgun is to track down the floating island. This is a bit more difficult than other POIs because it isn’t a simple location. It is never in the same place for any two games.
Instead, the floating island can rift into anywhere in the safe zone. It’s only active (outside of the storm) for a couple of storm circles, never being over the final circle to cut down on weird happenings for the last few players.
The best system for getting to the floating island first is to keep an eye out for those rift indicators once the players remaining are below 40. You’ll just have to be quicker than anyone else if you want to get the Mythic Drum shotgun.
At some point, you’ll get the indicator. As a large island, it does take a little while to rift in though. In this time, you should start heading over to the island. If you happen to be close to a vehicle spawn then this should be easy! If you haven’t quite lucked out though, things are trickier. You’ll need to get over there fast, which can be tricky with low mobility this season.
Claiming the POI
Once you’re at the POI, you’ll need to use one of the rifts on the ground or the ascenders to head up to the island.
At this point, it’s probably best to do a little scouting. Make sure there’s no player waiting to ambush you. If you’re clear, head over to the flag and begin to claim the POI. The floating island is an advertised location with great loot, so you’ll likely have to defend it.
You can make use of builds or port-a-bunkers in Zero Builds to add a bit of safety. Ultimately though, you might need to do a 1-V-1 in Fortnite to make sure no one else can grab the loot before you.
Once the timer for the capture point is up, it’ll drop a whole load of loot. There’s the Mythic Drum Shotgun, heals, and usually another golden-tier weapon. Sometimes this is also a Drum Shotgun! If that’s the case make sure you’ve grabbed the more orange Mythic variety and not the standard gold, it’s the stronger choice and the only Fortnite Mythic shotgun this season.
Collecting the Mythic Drum Shotgun
Once the loot has dropped, all that’s left to do is to grab the Mythic Drum Shotgun and get off the island. If you don’t want to deal with fighting other players heading up there for a crack at the top Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 weapon themselves, then you should make use of the launch pads around the edges of the island. These can provide a quick escape.
Is the Mythic Drum Shotgun in Vaults?
The Mythic Drum Shotgun is the replacement for the old Mythic Havoc Pump, but it isn’t accessible in the same way. The Fortnite Chapter 4 Mythic shotgun isn’t in the vaults anymore. Instead, there’s a Flapjack Rifle Mythic replacing it.
