Now that the second week of the VCT NA Challengers 2 is over, it’s time to take a closer look at the current team standings.

XSET and Luminosity Gaming are leading the charge in their respective groups, with OpTiC Gaming following behind Luminosity with 2 wins. These are the only three teams that survived their first two matches, but others had mixed results.

On the other hand, the three worst-performing teams so far are Sentinels, FaZe, and The Guard.

Huge Upsets in Week 2

The second week of the Valorant Champions Tour NA Challengers 2 has been filled with surprises. Some of the biggest names in North America fell once again.

EG vs Sentinels

Sentinels got outplayed by Evil Geniuses, marking the team’s second loss in the tournament. Despite dropping Zombs and bringing in Kanpeki, they still fail to find that missing link that made them the dominant team in the previous season. They brought back Rawkus to coach the team, but it seemed to have little effect so far. At this point, it’s unclear what exactly Sentinels will have to do to finally wake up, but it’ll have to be something rather drastic.

TSM vs 100 Thieves

TSM claimed an important win against 100 Thieves’ revamped Valorant roster. They beat 100 Thieves on both maps and maintained a constant advantage throughout the match, both in terms of performance and overall economy. With 1 – 1 scores, the two teams now share the third spot in group A.

100 Thieves will likely fight an uphill battle in week 3, where they’re scheduled to compete against XSET, who are currently leading the group with 2 wins. Valorant betting odds are stacked against them in this match. TSM will have an excellent opportunity to climb the ladder in their match against the weakened The Guard. We’ll see whether they’ll be able to seize it.

OpTiC vs Cloud9

This was perhaps the most interesting match of the tournament so far. OpTiC claimed a 2 – 1 victory, but not without working really hard for it.

This was the first match Curry was playing for C9, and honestly, he did a pretty good job. Many were expecting a real catastrophe following C9’s announcement and the departure of Xeta and Autumn for T1.

Overall, despite losing the match, Cloud9 held their ground and gave the fans one hell of a show.

FaZe vs Luminosity

Luminosity Gaming continue to take down some of the biggest names in North America. They started with a 2 – 1 victory against Sentinels and then proceeded to take a 2 – 0 win against FaZe. They’re slowly returning to that outstanding form they once displayed in the early days of Valorant Champions Tour.

Just like C9, FaZe also made a drastic change before this match, where they swapped POACH for flyuh. However, this made no impact in the outcome of this match as Luminosity were well prepared.

XSET vs NRG

XSET secured their second victory in the esports tournament and are currently sitting at the top spot in group A as the only team with two victories. They’re off to a great start and there’s a pretty good chance they can pull off a clean 5 – 0 run in group A.

Their next match will be against 100 Thieves, where we expect XSET to secure their third win. If you’re looking for a relatively safe pick with great Valorant odds, then keep an eye on this match.
