In recent years, OpTic in its many forms has struggled to gain real traction in the Call of Duty League, but it seems as though the squad is making up for that in earnest. As we approach the second Major of the 2022 CDL season, OpTic Texas boasts a 5 – 0 record in the regular stage and a record of 12 – 2 overall.
It’s a wonderful sight for the fans that wavered somewhat last season. However, it seems that the coming together of Dallas Empire and OpTic Chicago was a game-changing move. Now, the team is poised to secure the bag once again at Major II, repeating the performance it laid down in Major I.

OpTic Texas Sweeps The Field
This weekend, OpTic Texas laid waste to Atlanta FaZe and LAG, pulling off two massive 3 – 0 victories and securing a 5 – 0 record overall. It was a shock twist to finish off the stage, with Atlanta FaZe having already shown a dominating display throughout the last few weeks. It seems that OpTic Texas is the one team that Atlanta FaZe cannot overcome, a fact that may persist as we move into Major II. With one of the best Call of Duty records OpTic has seen in years, we may be witnessing the emergence of an all-new dynasty.
Elsewhere, fans of the New York Subliners rejoiced this week following something of a resurgence for the team. While NYSL still sits second from bottom in the Call of Duty League standings, this weekend gave way to two big wins for the New York side. In recent weeks, fans have been up in arms regarding the state of NYSL, and just recently, Clayster was benched from the squad. It seems that his replacement, Paulehx, is making waves, as this weekend, NYSL dashed the hopes of Minnesota Rokkr and Toronto Ultra.
Moving Into Major II
As we approach the second Major of the season, the board is set and the pieces are ready to move. There are some fantastic fixtures lined up that will see many Call of Duty titans clash against one another. Here are the opening matches in the Winner’s Bracket:

Should the Subliners be able to maintain its momentum, Atlanta FaZe could be thrown down into the Loser’s Bracket in the space of a single series. If that’s the case, it will be up to the LA Thieves to eject FaZe from the competition entirely. Will the squad be up to the task?
At this point, all eyes are on OpTic Texas – should another Major victory go into the team’s pocket, the season will become one step closer to being secured.
