OG, one of the most recognisable teams in Dota 2 have now confirmed the short return of two icons. Both Johan “N0tail” Sundstein and Sebastien “Ceb” Debs are now returning to the team in which they had won two TI’s with. This will shake up proceedings, as they haven’t played together competitively for over six months. The double move is a result of OG’s captain Mikhail “Misha” Agatov and Coach Evganiy “Chuvash” Makarov being unable to attain visas.

The First Major with a Live Crowd

The ESL Stockholm Major is on LAN, which had set visa complications for multiple players. Despite teams having to call for stand-ins, the fans will be able to attend this event. It will be the first time since early 2020 that fans can cheer for their favourite teams in person. With $500,000 and pro-points on the line, it is sure to be an electric atmosphere. With most teams having the x-factor despite losses, any team in the major could go all the way.

The group stages start from 12thMay, with the final concluding the Major on 22nd May. With this in mind, esports betting certainly couldn’t be closer. OG themselves are favoured to find success, but the likes of Gaimin Gladiators and T1 could easily make it to the finals. With the group stage being in a b02 format, the next three days will have many highlights. As always, if choosing a team is difficult, check out our guides as we have plenty of insight.

What Changed for OG?

A full breakdown from Stockholm Major can be seen here. Master tactician N0tail will be taking up the mantle of coach for this one tournament. Ceb on the other hand will be primarily used as 5th position. With this being a one-off tournament, OG certainly have an advantage that others do not. The experience and flawless cohesion both members bring should elevate the entire squad.

Unfortunately, this double change will only be for the Stockholm Major. So, for OG fans looking for the TI dynasty reform, a permanent change is highly unlikely. Upon completion of the tournament Chuvash and Misha will be brought back into the main set-up, but that does not mean N0tail and Ceb will disappear. Having filled in at the last moment, it does signify they have close feelings for the organisation. This could result in both Ceb and N0tail working even closer with the roster as the year goes on.

OG Team line-up for Stockholm Major 2022

  • Artem “Yuragi” Golubiev
  • Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov
  • Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf
  • Tommy “Taiga” Le
  • Sebastien “Ceb” Debs
  • Johan “N0tail” Sundstein (Coach)

Overall, there is plenty to be confident about in the OG camp. They may have lost their last three games offline, at the Invitational Series Dubai 2022, but they have been in great form since. Tundra, GG, Entity and Brame have all been defeated 2-0 by OG since then, which will give them great confidence. How will these iconic and charismatic characters fare back on the big stage? Luckily enough, we don’t have to wait long as their first match starts on 12th May against Beastcoast.
