We take a look at the items currently dominating in the 7.32b meta.

Dota 2 is a game where players can access a wide range of items. Unlike other MOBAs where certain heroes have to get specific items, Dota 2 is a completely different game because the possibilities are endless.

With that said, some items are way more popular than others, especially in a given patch. 7.32b is not an exception because the new patch brought many changes to some of the popular items. This had an effect on the meta because things like Bloodstone became even less popular, whereas other options became hot.

With that said, here is what you need to know about the most powerful items in the given meta.

Black King Bar

There are a couple of items in Dota 2 that can work in every meta and every situation, and Black King Bar is one of them. Even though this was an item that only some heroes purchased, this is no longer the case.

Pretty much any core hero in Dota 2 needs a Black King Bar at some point. While it is true that the item does not provide any fantastic stats, it has one of the best active effects on the game. Once used, heroes become immune to almost all abilities, with the exception of those that go through it, such as Doom.

Another interesting thing about this item is that it has remained relatively the same through the years. In fact, one of the most significant changes to it was when Valve decided to lower its duration each time someone used it.

With that said, patch 7.32 added another change — the item required mana to cast. Although it didn’t cost much, this thing affected some players. With that said, BKB is the second-most popular item in the given meta, which proves it is a must-have.

Blink Dagger

Speaking of “evergreen items” like BKB, we must include the Blink Dagger. The latter is an item that some heroes have been using since DotA, and it is one of the most satisfying ones on the list.

Blink Dagger is one of the few items in the game that does not provide any stats. Despite that, this item plays a key role for many heroes because it allows them to blink in or away, depending on the situation. In other words, this is an item that allows certain heroes to position themselves in a better way.

Unsurprisingly, loads of heroes can take advantage of this item. Axe, for example, is one of the offlaners that always goes for it. That’s one of the reasons why he even has a cosmetic item that looks like it.

Speaking of Blink Dagger, we’d like to remind everyone that Valve added a couple of big changes to the item in terms of its upgrades. Even though this was one of the few Dota 2 items that did not have any upgrades, heroes can choose from three options, depending on whether they use STR, INT, or AGI.

Aside from providing stats, the new Blink Dagger also has a specific effect, such as lowering the cast time. Needless to say, this also had an effect on the item’s popularity.

Desolator

Aside from the utility items and those that provide defensive stats and/or spell immunity, Dota 2 has many items that focus on giving the hero a lot of damage. There are several notable options to choose from, but it seems like Desolator is the most popular alternative.

Desolator is an item that provides extra damage and removes 7 armor for an enemy unit when you attack it. Aside from its standard effect, Valve recently decided to allow the item to get up to 20 bonus damage when a hero dies and it has been affected by Corruption. The latter is Deso’s effect which removes the armor.

Since Desolator is a specific item that only provides damage, it is not something that you want to get for every hero. In fact, this thing usually works on a couple of options, such as Templar Assassin, Phantom Assassin, Shadow Fiend, and more.

One of the advantages of having a Desolator is the fact that the item is cheap. In other words, heroes can get it early on and use it to snowball and get better items afterward.

Silver Edge

If you want an item that allows you to become invisible, you must go for a Shadow Blade. Valve changed the required items for it a couple of times already, but it has the same effect – when used, heroes become invisible and will gain bonus damage on the first attack that reveals them.

Most players who go for a Shadow Blade also decide to purchase the upgrade – Silver Edge. The latter has the same effect as its standard version. However, it deals more damage after the first attack and disables the enemy’s passive abilities for a couple of seconds. This makes Silver Edge one of the best counters to particular heroes, such as Huskar.

Aghanim’s Scepter and Aghanim’s Shard

The last spot on the list is actually for two items, but since they are similar, we’ve decided to put them into one category. Aghanim’s Scepter is one of the most popular Dota 2 items ever because it has been around for many years. It is also one of the few options that haven’t changed at all.

When you get this item, it changes some of the hero’s abilities or adds a new one. The item has a different effect on every hero, which is why some will always go for it, whereas others will get it in specific situations. In addition to the extra ability or improved spells, the item also gives HP and mana.

Aghanim’s Shard is fairly new to the game because it became available a few months ago. Nevertheless, the item quickly gained tons of attention because it improved some abilities and granted certain heroes even more options to choose from. Unlike the Aghs Scepter, this item is a lot cheaper and also does not take a slot, which is really important.
