Dota 2: Patch 7.33 Wish List

Here are some of the things we expect to see in the Dota 2 patch 7.33.

Following the leak that the latest Dota 2 patch will arrive on April 20, fans from all over the world are eager to learn what’s new. According to the information, this will be one of the biggest patches in the last couple of years, meaning it will bring tons of new things.

That said, the Dota 2 patch 7.33 hasn’t arrived yet, meaning we still have a few more hours or days to play the current patch. Of course, people are interested in learning more about everything new, so it’s time for our patch 7.33 wish list. Keep in mind that none of the things mentioned below are confirmed, so we might be horribly off here. However, most of the Dota 2 agrees that some things have to change, so let’s learn more about them.

A lot of hero changes

It probably doesn’t come as a surprise that we expect patch 7.33 to bring us tons of hero changes. We’ve already covered some of the heroes that we expect to be buffed, but we can only guess the number of heroes that will receive buffs and nerfs.

The idea behind all hero changes is to make the meta more interesting to players. Some of the Dota 2 changes we’ve seen in the last couple of years have changed the game from the ground up, whereas others only make some heroes slightly stronger or weaker. However, considering that Patch 7.33 will be one of the biggest ones in a while, we can expect a completely new meta.

Addressing the power of the high ground

Even though we haven’t seen any major Dota 2 change in this regard in a while, we think it is high time Valve addresses the power of the high ground. Whether you’re playing in a high-level PUB game or watching a professional Dota 2 match, you know that controlling the HG is extremely important. Once you have access to this zone, you can see who’s coming to get you.

Players secure HG control by using wards, and once that happens, it becomes really difficult for the enemies to deal with it. While we agree that this should remain a part of the game, 7.33 may change the way HG vision works. For example, we think it will be interesting if teams can take advantage of it only when they’re close by instead of having permanent vision over a given spot.

Changes to denies

Most Dota 2 players probably remember when Valve decided to allow players who deny creeps to get gold. This change was interesting, to say the least, but it didn’t last long because players realized that some heroes become even stronger. Although this was not the most successful change in Dota 2, it had a massive effect on the meta, so we want to put it on our Patch 7.33 wish list.

There are many things that Valve can do with the deny option in Dota 2. For example, it may increase the XP share between players, which means that we might see the so-called “tri-lanes” in action. With that said, we might see a decrease, resulting in a  2-1-1-1 lane where one of the support heroes will roam around.

A second Roshan?!

We know this sounds crazy, but one of the things on our Dota 2 Patch 7.33 wish list is a second Roshan. If you think about it, Roshan is the only big neutral objective in Dota 2, and it has been a part of the game since the beginning. Old-school Dota 2 players probably remember that he was positioned behind the mid-Tier 1 tower before, which gave the Dire a huge advantage.

Even though his position has been different for some time now, the current map layout still gives the Dire a slight lead because they can control the Rosh pit easier than the Radiant. We might see another move from Roshan, but we wouldn’t be surprised if Valve decides to surprise us with a second Roshan.

Besides adding another Roshan, Valve may also decide that Patch 7.33 will spawn this important NPC in different locations. Doing this will make the game a lot more interesting, especially if the location is random and changes all the time. Players will have to be a lot more innovative and careful when going for the Aegis.

A new objective

The Dota 2 hero Morphling is one of the game's most popular and powerful carry heroes

As mentioned, Roshan is the only real Dota 2 objective right now that teams can fight for. Even though the items he drops can be game-changing, it would be nice if we see something new that gives other advantages. Therefore, one of the things on our Dota 2 patch 7.33 wish list is a new objective.

Whether it be a dragon, troll, or something else, this unit will likely be slightly weaker than Roshan. One of the things we’re not sure about is the items it should drop because they have to provide some kinds of perks that are not better than those from Roshan. It will be very interesting to see if Valve does something like this.

Bigger “punishment” for a courier kill

courier

One of the worst things that could’ve happened to a mid-laner several years ago is for the enemy team to snipe his courier. This meant that he couldn’t do anything to get his items, and the enemy team got tons of gold. However, Valve decided to change this in the last couple of years and make courier-killing less painful for the team.

That said, one of the things on our Dota 2 Patch 7.33 wish list is to see a change in this area. If Valve decided to reward courier killing even more, teams would start paying more attention to it. In fact, we might even see the classic courier sniping that took place several years ago.
