MOUZ vs G2 Match Preview

CS2 odds used in this article were provided by one of the best CS2 betting sites, Leetbit.

MOUZ

Due to MOUZ not having a lot of big-name players among their ranks, their recent success has gone under the radar. The international roster is on a great streak of results, including top-four finishes at the BLAST World Final and IEM Katowice, as well as two flawless runs in the European RMR and the Elimination Stage in Copenhagen. What’s more, they’ve gone on this run after losing their star player David “frozen” Cernansky to FaZe not long before that.

One of MOUZ’s biggest strengths is how well-rounded they are as a roster, with each player being able to contribute on an individual level when called upon. The international squad has been so dominant in Copenhagen that the top two highest-rated players of the tournament so far are MOUZ players – Jimi “Jimmphat” Salo and Dorian “xertioN” Berman (1.50 and 1.45 ratings, respectively).

Additionally, they are all extremely young, with the roster’s average age sitting at just 20.5, which is unheard of among top Counter-Strike teams. This bodes well for their longevity in the scene but could cause them some short-term struggles regarding keeping cool in important matches and high-pressure environments.

G2

Despite their recent struggles and constant criticism flooding their way, G2 finally returned to Major playoffs after three long years. However, saying their road was difficult would be an understatement, as they were on the verge of suffering an 0-2 defeat in their deciding matchup against Virtus.pro when Dzhami “Jame” Ali’s PC crashed in a crucial round, allowing G2 to get back into the game and claw their way back to victory.

Apart from the sensational Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, who seems to be getting better with each CS2 map he plays, G2 looked very underwhelming in their matchups, with the Bosnian duo of Nikola “NiKo” Kovac and Nemanja “hunter” Kovac continuing to underperform. A playoff berth might be the saving grace that the brothers need to elevate their game and give m0NESY the support he needs to carry the squad to the next round of games.

Lastly, G2 are one of the most experienced teams in big pressure matches in recent times, having won both IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne in 2023, besting solid squads along the way. This experience can help them get out of unfavorable situations and remain calm when things get hectic on the server.

MOUZ vs G2 Odds & Prediction

As for PGL Copenhagen betting, Leetbit have MOUZ as the slight favorite to beat G2 and come out on top in their international lineup face-off. Considering both teams’ performances in this event, it’s interesting that MOUZ aren’t the overwhelming favorites, but G2’s reputation seems to have remained intact.

A lot of responsibility will be on the AWPers’ shoulders – Adam “torzsi” Torzsas for MOUZ and m0NESY for G2 – to take control of the game and allow their teammates to execute their game plans. If one overpowers the other, one team could run away with the game before the opponents even realize it.

  • Prediction: MOUZ (2-1) G2
  • Odds: MOUZ Win (-147/1.68), G2 Win (+105/2.05)
