Axe defends his wells from Roshan in Diretide

Find out how to play Axe in Diretide mode during Battle Pass 2022 to win more matches before the season ends.

Part II of the Battle Pass 2022 has released Diretide, a new seasonal game mode for esports enthusiasts. Dota 2 players can play Diretide matches to score Taffy in enemy wells. You can attack Greevils on the Diretide map to collect Taffy that can be deposited in any of the 4 enemy wells.

The mighty Roshan will step out of his pit, once every few minutes to destroy the enemy well with the most Taffy scored in it. The first team to lose all 4 of their wells to Roshan will lose the Diretide match. The increased gold per minute (GPM) and gameplay mechanics involved in Diretide games require people to apply a new approach while playing their beloved heroes in Dota 2.

You can complete a number of Weekly Quests while playing Diretide games to earn bonus battle points. These battle points can be accumulated to unlock outstanding rewards within the massively multiplayer game. The Conduit of the Blueheart Persona for Crystal Maiden, the Voidstorm Asylum Arcana for Razor, and the Claszian Apostasy Arcana for Faceless Void are among the most impressive rewards that you can unlock with the Battle Pass 2022.

Here’s a detailed guide on how you can play Axe in Diretide mode to help your allies destroy enemy wells faster in the game.

How to Play Axe in Diretide

Axe is a courageous tank hero in Dota 2. Many people who prefer to play Axe in Diretide mode use his Strength and increased armor to absorb a majority of the incoming damage from enemy heroes. The new game mode requires people to use Axe to distract enemy heroes while they score Taffy in your wells.

The Strength hero is one of the fastest melee heroes in Diretide mode. He has a base movement speed of 310 that lets him reach far distances to assist allies in battles. You can purchase items like Blink Dagger and Blade Mail that can turn Axe into a dangerous initiator in the game.

Axe can use Berserker’s Call to force all enemy units to attack him for up to 3.2 seconds. Berserker’s Call can pierce through spell immunity and work wonders for players who want to start fights in Diretide matches.

The melee hero gains 25 bonus armor while Berserker’s Call is active. Axe can use Berserker’s Call on Greevils to make them attack Axe, releasing dozens of Taffy after their attacks trigger instances of Counter Helix. Berserker’s Call affects all enemy units in a radius of 300. It has a cooldown of 11 seconds and needs 110 mana.

Counter Helix is a passive ability that can make Axe a devastating hero to fight in battles. Axe has a 20% chance to deal 180 Pure damage to enemies in a radius of 275. People can deal bonus damage with Counter Helix while Blade Mail is equipped. You can increase the damage dealt to enemy heroes through Counter Helix by reaching level 15 through the Talent Tree.

Many enemy heroes avoid participating in team fights during the early game in Diretide matches. Battle Hunger can be used on enemy heroes while they attack Greevils to prevent them from escaping battles.

Enemy units affected by Battle Hunger are slowed by 35% and take up to 25 damage per second (DPS). Battle Hunger has a cast range of 925 and lasts for a duration of 12 seconds. It has a cooldown of 5 seconds and consumes 80 mana per cast.

Axe’s ulti, Culling Blade, can be used to deal the final blow on enemy heroes in Diretide mode. You can deal up to 450 Pure damage with his ulti in the game. Every time an enemy hero is killed using Culling Blade, it will reset his ulti and provide a permanent armor boost of 2 per kill.

The Strength hero and his allies in a radius of 900 will gain 30% movement speed bonus and 40 attack speed bonus when Axe kills an enemy hero with Culling Blade. The movement speed and attack speed bonus lasts for up to 6 seconds after slaying opponents in the game. Culling Blade has a cooldown of 70 seconds and requires 150 mana.

People playing Axe can try attacking Taffy Guardians to help teammates score more Taffy in the enemy wells. Diretide matches can only be won after scoring tons of Taffy in enemy wells that can be used to lure Roshan out of his cave.

Best Allies for Axe in Diretide

Disruptor

Disruptor can limit the movement of enemy heroes and prevent them from casting spells in Diretide games. The support hero is a worthy ally of Axe who can nuke his opponents with spells that can drain away at their health.

Allies can use Thunder Strike repeatedly to weaken enemy heroes while playing Diretide matches with the Battle Pass 2022. Each hit from Thunder Strike deals 110 damage and hits enemies 4 times per cast. Thunder Strike also deals damage to surrounding enemy units in a 240 radius. It has a cooldown of 9 seconds and requires 140 mana.

Teammates playing Disruptor can cast Kinetic Field to trap enemies after Axe uses Blink Dagger and Berserker’s Call to initiate a team fight. Kinetic Field can restrain enemy units from moving out of a radius of 350 and lasts for up to 4.4 seconds. It has a cooldown of 10 seconds and consumes 70 mana.

Disruptor’s ulti, Static Storm, can be used inside a Kinetic Field to silence enemies in the game. Silenced enemies take up to 350 DPS while standing inside the Static Storm. Disrupter’s ulti can prevent multiple enemies from casting their spells, giving your team an advantage in combat. Static Storm lasts for 6 seconds and has a radius of 500. It needs 225 mana.

Enchantress

Enchantress is an Intelligence hero capable of healing Axe and other allies during team fights. Diretide mode has plenty of neutral creep camps that allow Enchantress to convert them into controlled units. Allies can use Enchantress to slow the movement speed of enemy heroes to help Axe keep pace with his opponents and end their lives with Culling Blade.

Teammates can level up Impetus to deal bonus damage to enemy heroes while fighting along side Axe in Diretide mode. Impetus deals 20% of the distance between Enchantress and her targets as Pure damage with each physical attack.

The support hero can heal Axe after the Strength hero takes sustained damage from his foes in battles. Enchantress can summon up to 8 wisps during combat using Nature’s Attendants. These wisps can be used to increase the regeneration rate by 16 health per second to allies around her in a radius of 275. Nature’s Attendants has a cooldown of 35 seconds and consumes 140 mana.

Enchantress can freely convert neutral creeps on the Diretide map using her active ability, Enchant. These neutral creeps can provide the support your team needs while collecting Taffy. Creeps that have been converted by the Enchantress gain bonus health, armor, and attack damage for 120 seconds.
