There’s soon to be a new Nintendo Switch emulator on the block in the form of Suyu which is based on Yuzu’s open source code and aims to deliver a similar experience for emulation enthusiasts. Suyu which is pronounced “‘sue-you” is not ready for use just yet, but the team is assembling and has a GitLab page. The Suyu team is confident it won’t be taken down as Suyu has consulted “someone with legal experience” and the project “currently exists in a legal gray area we are trying to work our way out of.” The project won’t include monetisation and also doesn’t provide step by step guides, which Yuzu previously did before it was shut down by Nintendo. It will certainly be interesting to see how Suyu fares in the future.
