Japan: Pokemon Scarlet & Violet sell 375K copies ahead of Christmas, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe now over 5 million

The latest Japanese video game software and hardware charts have come through for the week of 19th December, 2022 to 25th December, 2022. The recently released Pokémon Scarlet & Violet games shifted an additional 375,665 boxed copies in the run up to Christmas. That’s not all as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold an additional 41,887 physical units, pushing the game over the five million copies sold (5,014,375) in the land of the rising sun. The best-selling hardware was once again the Nintendo Switch family of systems, though more stock arrived for Sony’s PlayStation 5 console which saw it shifting an additional 69K units.
