Dragonflight patch 10.0.7 Orc heritage armor

With WoW Dragonflight Patch 10.0.5 hitting live servers (and the Trading post dropping on February first), it’s time to move onward to Patch 10.0.7.

So, let’s get a TLDR of what’s to come in this small but exciting content patch:

  • Players will finally be able to explore (or explore for Exoker players) the Forbidden Reach area of the Dragon Isles. While previously the Dracthyr starting area, now max-level content litters the area.
  • Humans and Orcs finally get their long-awaited heritage armor questlines (more on that later).
  • The Monk class will become available to new races. With Goblins, Lightforged Draennei and Worgen join the mix.
  • We’ll also see a revamp to the recruit-a-friends system, though details have not been shared as of now.

Heading back into Forbidden Reach

Blizzard clarified early in the beta that the Dracthyr starting area wasn’t just a level experience. Though beta players never got to see the content as Blizzard kept it back. So, what type of content are we going to get? Firstly, we’ll explore the story and learn more about what happened to the Dracthyr Evoker, and what happens for them now that Raszageth has been defeated. The zone will now feature max-level content for players to enjoy, which will delve into what’s left behind after the Primalists caused chaos in the area. The area will feature new bosses and objectives alongside a new storm location and lots of new loot. By the sounds of it, this is going to be a new quest hub area. Mostly likely full of World Quests on a two-resets-per-week schedule.

Orc and Human Heritage Armor Questline

Dragonflight patch 10.0.7 Human heritage armor

It feels like we’ve been waiting since Warcraft 2, but we’re finally getting Heritage sets for the “OG” races. Like many others, this will take the form quest chain focused on the events surrounding that faction. No details have been shared at this time. Some players have expressed concerns about the armor, saying it looks “meh”, while that’s subjective, a Blizzard CM did give some people looking for blood some hope:

“Just for additional context on the Heritage Armor sets for Orc and Human, there are a couple of other variations players will get. We’ll show more of those a bit later”

We don’t know precisely what that means, but we suspect it’ll either be color alterations or, a look at dealing with some concerns that the female human armor doesn’t look right.

Time to get your Monk on

While Monks have never been the most popular class in WoW, mostly due to all three of their specs offering a unique gimmick to how the role normally plays, that said, those who might be holding off on making a Monk might be hyped to find out you can now play as a Goblin, Lightforged Draenei and Worgen.

Recruit a Friend Refresh (again)

While we have few details on what the changes are, we’d expect Blizzard to be keen to capitalize on the success of Dragonflight. You can see how the most recent iteration of the system works, though, we have to wonder what happens to all the current loot from the system. For now, we’d probably speculate that the rewards will remain mostly the same, but the means by which you get the rewards will be changing.

When does WoW Dragonflight Patch 10.0.7 release?

It will arrive on the PTR soon, though, given it’s mostly content-light (as the new quest content is physically already done). We suspect this could be a fairly quick turnaround. Late February would line us up nicely to see Patch 10.1 in May, which would keep the patch release schedule on target for the six patches in 2023 total.
