Multiple sources have said that on March 21 that North American group 100 Thieves has met with possible applicants for the VALORANT general manager role.
Former pundit Daniel “ddk” Kapadia is one of the candidates that has been considered internally, according to two sources. The 33-year-old announced his retirement from commentating two days ago, citing a dispute with Riot Games as one of the causes in his decision.
Ddk, one of VALORANT’s most well-known commentators, said on March 19 that he will not be part of the commentary team for the VALORANT Champions Tour Masters tournament, which begins next month in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Both the NA VCT Stage One Challengers Playoffs, which end on March 17, and Game Changers will continue to be cast by Ddk, he noted. The first instalment will premiere on March 31 and will end on April 11.
The NA VCT Stage One Challengers were just completed by 100 Thieves, with the main season ending on March 14. 100 Thieves finished last in Group A with a 1-4 record, failing to qualify for the playoffs.
On March 15, 100 Thieves were eliminated from the BoomTV Proving Grounds after losing to SoaR Gaming in the quarterfinals.
The second stage of VCT Challengers, which begins on May 5, will include 100 Thieves.
