Tencent’s Honor of Kings becomes first mobile game to make $10B in revenue

Honor of Kings, one of the most popular games produced by Chinese technology giant, Tencent, has officially become the first mobile game to make over US$10 billion in total revenue.

The game, also known as 王者荣耀 (Wangzhe Rongyao) in Chinese, was launched back in 2015.

It is currently only available to play in China.

Honor of Kings features over 100 playable heroes, and has quickly risen in popularity over the past 6 years in China.

It is so popular that players in countries outside China have also started playing the game.

Despite recent restrictions that have been imposed by the Chinese government in order to reduce gaming time among teenagers, Honor of Kings presently records over 100 million daily players.
