The Subliners are the first roster to make a change in the 2022 season.

The Call of Duty League is just a week into its 2022 Vanguard season. With just 10 matches played so far between the 12 teams, it has only just begun. However, following two poor results in week one, the New York Subliners are the first roster to make a chance.

Neptune Dropped

Travis “Neptune” McCloud departs the Subliners following two poor results in week one. While Crimsix and Clayster were never going to leave the squad, Hydra is also NYSL’s golden boy, leaving only one choice. Unfortunately, this sees a very talented player in Neptune hit the bench extremely early in the season.

During one of NYSL’s listen in’s during the first week, Crimsix can be heard telling the youngsters to calm down and play more as a team. Communication may be a factor in this decision, as Neptune’s ability is undoubtable.

Royalty Joins the Subliners

Matthew “Royalty” Faithfull joins the New York Subliners and returns to professional Call of Duty from tonight’s week two qualifiers. Royalty is a well known player within the Call of Duty esports scene, and while this will be his CDL debut, it is far from his competitive debut.

In previous CWL seasons, Royalty has played under teams such as Enigma 6, Lightning Pandas, Evil Geniuses and most recently Triumph and Team Canada in Challengers. His biggest recent achievement comes in the 2020 CDL Challengers Championship win with Triumph, where Royalty’s SMG prowess was displayed.

NYSL get underway tonight against LA Thieves as they look to regain in the Major 1 qualifiers.
