Pokémon Trading Card Game Online Ending Card Set Development Support

Today is a sad day for fans of the Online Pokémon Trading Card Game.

Scheduled for a November 2021 release, the long-awaited Pokémon Trading Card Game Live experienced multiple delays that pushed the beta release date to 2022. The Pokémon Company soft-launched the beta in Canada in February 2022 and expanded the beta access to Mexico in May. Australia and New Zealand received beta access in July, and the global beta finally launched in November 2022, a year after its initial planned release. While that came as good news for those looking forward to Pokémon Trading Card Game Live, fans of the Online Pokémon Trading Card Game should start counting the grains of sand in their hourglasses.

The End of Three Eras

The Pokémon Company has announced its plans to sunset the Online Pokémon Trading Card Game. Crown Zenith, released on January 20, will be the final Sword & Shield set and the final card set with Pokémon Trading Card Game Online support.

The Crown Zenith Special Collection-Pikachu VMAX, Lucario VSTAR Special Collection, and Kleavor VSTAR Special Collection, all scheduled for a February 16 release, will be the last TCG products coming to Pokémon Trading Card Game Online. Card Set Development Support will completely cease on March 1.

But that’s not the end of it. Pokémon Trading Card Game Online will shut down the instant Pokémon Trading Card Game Live launches globally. You can redeem any and all support Pokémon Trading Card Game Online codes until Pokémon Trading Card Game Online shuts down. The 2023 Pokémon TCG Standard Format Rotation (Which comes into play on April 14) and the Pokémon Tool Errata data will not apply to Pokémon Trading Card Game Online.

Players can migrate their Pokémon Trading Card Game Online collections to Pokémon Trading Card Game Live via the beta. There is currently no deadline for when you need to make the transition. If that changes, there will be advanced notice of the final deadline for migrating your collections after Pokémon Trading Card Game Online sunsets.

After achieving total victory and finally becoming Champion, Ash Ketchum will no longer be the main protagonist of Pokémon. And now the Online Pokémon Trading Card Game is coming to an end. It’s truly the beginning of a new era of Pokémon.

There is currently no estimate for when Pokémon Trading Card Game Live will launch. The beta still doesn’t have SEA language functionality, so we reckon we still have plenty of time to enjoy Pokémon Trading Card Game Online before it goes offline. Enjoy it while it lasts.
