The French team is putting its assistance coach on the active roster for the remainder of the VCT
Karmine Corp has announced the sudden departure of their IGL Alexis “Newzera” Humbert from the active roster. Ahmed “ZE1SH” El Sheikh, the assistant coach for the team, will take his spot for the remainder of the 2023 VCT EMEA League. Since no team can make any roster changes before the Champions this year, this French organization will have to do with what they have!

Newzera had the in-game leader role for the roster, playing Initiator for KC. In a Tweet, Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom confirmed that ZE1SH would pick up the IGL role for their next games.

Newzera “Abandoned” Karmine Corp?

While the reason for Newzera leaving the active roster is still unknown, it comes as a shock since he has emptied the IGL spot of the team not even halfway into the VCT. Following this news, ScreaM asked for support from his fans on Twitter, mentioning, “My brother and I still live this moment when one of our teammates abandons the team within a competition.”
Under Newzera’s leadership, KC has only won a single series throughout the VCT. The team’s recent sloppy performance has received a lot of criticism, some even claiming Karmine Corp to be “the worst EMEA team.”
What’s Next for KC?
Karmine Corp will be facing NAVI with a new IGL on the team this Friday. It will take a lot of adjustment for the roster to get back on its feet. With this recent change, the current squad of KC consists of the following:
