Overwatch Cassidy Guide

Even though Overwatch 2 Season 3 has been around for several weeks now, there is still time to reach the rank they think they deserve. We’ve already covered some of the best heroes to focus on while playing, so check our articles. With that said, Season 4 is just around the corner, so we can expect a lot of new things to choose from.

Since most Overwatch 2 players focus on DPS, we’ve decided to look at some of the best DPS heroes right now and go through their ultimates. Every ultimate in the game can determine the course of a team fight as long as you know how to use it. Unsurprisingly, most low-rated players have no idea how to make the most of it, so let’s go through some of the important things to consider.

Cassidy’s Deadeye

Known as one of the most controversial heroes in Overwatch 2 right now, Cassidy is a hot pick in the current meta. Although many people dislike his current state because of his grenade, there is no arguing he is pretty strong. This explains why we see him a lot more often than before.

Cassidy’s ultimate is called Deadeye, and when used, it allows him to focus on his targets and do tons of damage. The ultimate has a duration of 7 seconds and will deal 130 damage per second for the first 2 seconds, followed by 260 DPS for the remaining duration. In other words, Cassidy can kill pretty much everyone as long as he has enough time. Unfortunately, this is where it gets problematic.

How to use Cassidy’s ultimate?

As you can imagine, all Overwatch 2 DPS, Tank, and Support players on the enemy team will do everything possible to avoid your ultimate. Since your movement speed is reduced a lot while using the ult, you will usually become the go-to target. Besides trying to kill you, enemies will use all sorts of other things to prevent you from hitting them. As a result, you have to be careful when using this ability.

One of the mistakes that low-ranked Overwatch 2 DPS Season 3 players make is that they only use their ults when they can kill multiple opponents. To do that, they usually have to position themselves in a way that allows them to do that. As a result, most of them will die shortly after using the ult.

Opponents who know what they’re doing won’t allow the enemy’s Cassidy to kill them with their ults. Besides using everything they can to stop him, they will also use natural cover to dodge the bullet. In other words, there is no need to wait until you can kill multiple heroes with Deadeye because killing even one player could be enough.

Of course, this depends a lot on the situation you’re in. In some cases, it’s worth trying to kill several heroes at once, but there are exceptions.

Soldier’s Tactical Visor

Following the changes after the arrival of Season 3 in Overwatch 2, Soldier: 76 quickly became one of the hottest heroes in the game. His new recoil makes him more “noob-friendly”, which explains his growing popularity in the lower-ranked skill brackets.

To be fair, Soldier has a pretty straightforward ultimate. Tactical Visor gives the hero 100% accuracy for 6 seconds, during which he has a 0.62s reload time. In other words, he can easily kill at least a few heroes as long as players know what they’re doing.

How to use Tactical Visor the right way?

To use the Overwatch 2 Soldier: 76 Tactical Visor the right way, you have to make sure your opponents won’t have something that will make it feel useless. There are many examples here, such as focusing on Rein’s shield or using it on Sigma’s defensive ability. Needless to say, doing this won’t give you any value.

The best time to use this ultimate is when you know your enemies don’t have something to counter it. For example, some of the best Overwatch 2 players on Soldier will use it when they’ve killed the tank. This would allow them to burst down all DPS and Support heroes and win the team fights.

Aside from the abovementioned situation, you can also try to use Tactical Visor when you’re flanking the enemy’s team. Even though you may not be able to kill everyone, securing 2 or 3 kills is more than enough to win a fight.

Ashe’s B.O.B

The Overwatch hero, Ashe

Following the nerfs to Widowmaker, Ashe became slightly more prevalent in Overwatch 2 Season 3. The hero’s mid-range damage output is one of the highest in the game, and she has tons of utility. Of course, her ultimate B.O.B. also received important buffs because Ashe can finally “control” it regarding which target to hit.

Unlike the ultimates mentioned above. BOB is not that hard to use because you just have to decide when to deploy it. However, some people make a lot of mistakes by not using him on time or putting him in a position where he can’t do much.

How to make the most of B.O.B.?

To make the most of BOB, Ashe players should pay attention to their opponents’ cooldowns and only use the ability when they can’t do anything to stop it. There are several examples of things that can make BOB feel useless. For example, Orisa’s spear can potentially stun him, meaning he won’t be able to do as much damage as he could.

Ana is also a massive problem for BOB because she can always put him to sleep, reducing his effectiveness. Needless to say, it’s Ashe’s job to keep track of those things and know when to use them.

BOB’s buffs make him way more powerful than before, especially in the hands of those who know how to use him properly. Ashe’s among the hottest DPS right now, so don’t be surprised if you keep seeing her in your games.
