Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander missed playing alongside Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz at Astralis
Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander and Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz formed a lethal partnership at Astralis and led the Danes to several tier-one titles, including the Intel Grand Slam Season 1 and ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017. The duo had been playing in the same team since 2016, but their five-year partnership would come to an end when dev1ce joined Ninjas In Pyjamas in a shock transfer in 2021.
Unfortunately, the AWPer did not enjoy life at NIP and failed to live up to the sky-high expectations. dev1ce’s transfer to NIP remains one of the most talked-about chapters in CSGO history but he could not replicate the heights he had reached at Astralis.
In October 2022, dev1ce would return to Astralis for a reported fee of €600k after a forgettable NIP spell. He did not hit the ground running upon his homecoming and failed to help Astralis qualify for the BLAST.tv Paris Major.
The 27-year-old, however, has been in great form in recent weeks. His longtime teammate gla1ve talked to HLTV about the new-look Astrais roster and the impact of dev1ce’s return to the setup following their 2-0 victory against Cloud9 in the IEM Dallas 2023 Upper Bracket Semi Finals.
Finally a good thing happening for Astralis after a terrible season.

“A lot has been happening with Astralis. Since 2023 has started we’ve gotten Buzz, Altekz, device, all of them really good players. Especially of course device, he’s putting up really good numbers. Somebody maybe thought that he couldn’t do it again, but he’s proving himself over and over again and he’s a really good player. It feels really good to have him by my side once again. Then also we have the back of Astralis, I mean the coaching staff, the sports psychologist, and stuff like that. That also has been changing for 2023, feels really good, now I have two coaches behind me. I’ve been asking for that for some time, so that feels really great.”
He also opened up on Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth’s absence from the senior team, who has been plying his trade at Astralis Talent lately.
“It’s tough to say. Xyp9x is a really calm guy, Altekz is pretty calm as well but Xyp9x is really good at communicating. What you see about the young guys is that they are not that comfortable with communication, so sometimes they don’t say what they do. Xyp9x was really good with communication and I think communication is one of the things that we can [improve] a bit, but we are doing our best to do it and work on that. Xyp9x of course is a great guy and a great player, and I hope all the best for him.”
