Fans were excited for the return of Nicolai “device” Reedtz to Astralis, and the results have not disappointed.
In case you’ve missed out on the CSGO news from the last couple of months, Astralis decided to acquire one of the best CSGO players in the world. Nicolai “device” Reedtz is a living legend in this game and has always been regarded as one of the best. However, he was unable to show his prowess in the last few months because of an injury.
The good news is that he is back for Astralis, and he got the chance to shine for his team. Unsurprisingly, everyone wanted to see if he has what it takes, and it is safe to say that fans are not disappointed.
The match
After he was away for some time, device finally had the chance to play for Astralis during the first round of the CCT North Europe Series 2 playoffs. Although this is a Tier 2 event, it has a $50K prize pool, which is why there are loads of big names, including Astralis and OG.
Speaking of the Devil, Astralis had to play against Tricked, another big team from Denmark. Everyone was waiting to see device in action, so you can imagine people’s smiles after he finished the match with a total of 32 kills. The top AWP player ripped through his competitors, even though he hasn’t played in an official match since he was a part of NiP in 2021.
Following the end of the series, device finished with 56 kills and 28 deaths in total, which made him the strongest player for Astralis. Benjamin “blameF” Bremer was close behind with 53 kills, but he died 6 times more, so his KDA was not as impressive as device’s.
What’s next for Astralis
After defeating the first team, Astralis’s next task will be to participate in the event’s quarterfinals. The legendary CSGO squad will have to go up against Into The Breach or HEET. Needless to say, device and the rest will be the heavy favorites because they are among the best in the world.
Device’s move to Astralis
Astralis decided to acquire one of the best CSGO players in the world a couple of months go. The transfer took palace around October, but fans only had the chance to see the new player in action now. In fact, we think that this is the main reason why Astralis agreed to take part in this event after finished 3rd-4th at Elisa Masters Espoo last month.
In addition to the CCT North Europe Series 2, Astralis will also participate at ESL Pro League Seasons 17 and 18. Unsurprisingly, the team will use these events to practice as much as possible so that Astralis can become the leading name in CSGO once again. As you probably remember, the team wasn’t able to qualify for IEM Rio after losing several matches.
