Rene “cajunb” Borg will fill in for MistR on Astralis Talent.

We’ve recently covered the fact that Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke won’t be able to play for Astralis in the upcoming qualifiers for IEM Rio. Despite being one of the best players in the world, he is injured. Hence, Astralis decided to replace him with Mikkel “MistR” Thomsen.

MistR is a well-known player in the CSGO scene, but he was a part of Astralis’s second roster called Astralis Talent. Of course, his addition to the main squad means someone will have to take his place on his old roster. After a couple of days, we’ve learned that Rene “cajunb” Borg will be the one who will temporarily fill in for MistR.

Everyone who keeps an eye on Astralis knows that this is not the first time cajunb has been a part of the team. In fact, he was a part of the team for around 4 months in 2016 and even played in a couple of big tournaments.

In fact, cajunb was one of the founding members of the top-rated Dannish Esports team. He played alongside dev1ce, Xyp9x and dupreeh. Sadly, it seems like the rest were unhappy with his performance because he was swapped shortly after that.

After the changes, Astralis Talent’s new roster is:

  • Patrick “Patti” Larsen
  • Nicklas “ jarko” Rasmussen
  • Rene “cajunb” Borg
  • Alexander “Altekz” Givskov
  • Kristoffer “Kristou” Aamand

The player’s journey

After leaving Astralis, cajunb was a part of TSM, where he played some of the best CSGO in his life. Besides winning numerous Tier 2 events, cajunb and the rest even won the PGL Season 1 Finals and many other competitions.

Aside for TSM, cajunb played for the likes of OpTic Gaming, Team Dignitas, Clould9, and North. At the time of writing this, the CSGO player is 32 years old, making him one of the oldest in the pro scene. This is a good thing because he has loads of experience and can help his teammates.

Now that he is back with Astralis, cajunb will have the chance to show what he’s capable of yet again. It will be very interesting to see what will happen because the player hasn’t been active in a couple of months. His last team was AGF Esports, but the latter was unable to win any big events.

With Rio just around the corner, there will be at least a couple of big tournaments to keep an eye on, so make sure to check out our CSGO betting websites.
