After an arduous journey to the top of the LCO, The Chiefs gear up for the biggest test of their careers: Worlds 2022. Challengers from across the globs converge on Mexico City in the hopes of qualifying to the group stage and continuing their climb to the top. Can The Chiefs crack the top 16?
The Chiefs have an uphill climb ahead of them at the Worlds 2022 Play-In as the qualifier event reached it’s halfway mark yesterday.
Japanese squad DetonatioN FocusMe were too good in the 9am AEST head-to-head match, with the loss meaning The Chiefs enter their Sunday double-header at 0-2.
With Evil Geniuses and Beyond Gaming both recording wins, the Oceanic champs are the only winless squad in the group–but will take on both today, with Chiefs needing at least one win to stay alive in the hunt for the Worlds group-stage spot.

Worlds 2022 Play-In Schedule & Results
The Worlds Play-In consists of two groups of six, with teams playing each opponent once. Each match is a best-of-one. The group winners both proceed to the Worlds Main Event.
Second, third and fourth place finishers will proceed to stage two of the Play-In. Fourth will play third in a best-of-five, with the winner progressing.
The winner will then play the second place finisher from the opposite group–the winner of that best-of-five snatches the final spot in the group stages.
