On Feb. 27, TSM Legends director Andrew White left his position after six years with the organization. Joining back in 2015 as a video producer for TSM Legends, Andrew White worked his way up the hierarchy, becoming the director during his career in the org.

TSM Legends Director Leaves after 6 years

Andrew White is officially leaving TSM and the director position for TSM Legends, the web documentary series that capture the organization and players’ moments and struggles throughout the years. TSM Legends is one of the most followed series in the LoL community and Andrew White was the one taking care of the production, directing a total of 89 episodes across 10 different esports titles.

“I wanted fans to feel those struggles themselves,” Andrew White said, “so when the immense relief of victory finally arrived, they could share at that moment and understand the difficulty and effort required to succeed. And maybe use those feelings to drive them, help them aspire to something of their own.”

Another important Departure from TSM

Since the beginning of the LCS, TSM quickly became one of the most successful franchises in North American history. The organization won seven LCS split titles and participated in eight League of Legends World Championship. Despite the legacy TSM has, the org is facing serious problems related to both its branding as well as from a competitive point of view in the League esports scene.

Despite having imported two Chinese players, TSM’s League of Legends team is currently 1-8 and dead last in the LCS 2022 Spring Split. Aside from the results, the organization is facing some backlash regarding the benching of Wei “Shenyi” Zi-Jie, the Chinese support TSM imported.

The lack of explanations towards some of the decisions made and the gameplay the team has shown is making fans quite unsatisfied, especially after losing important members like General Manager Parth “Parth” Naidu and former Head Coach Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg during the off-season. Bjergsen, in particular, was seen as the face of TSM and his addition to Team Liquid was seen as a big warning signal that something was not working. Unfortunately, Andrew White’s announcement marks yet another important departure from TSM, as their 2022 season has been the worst in years.

With just nine games left to the end of the tournament, TSM will look to make a comeback in Week Five of the 2022 LCS Spring Split, when they will be facing 3rd place FlyQuest on Mar. 5.
