League of Legends Patch 13.11: The Biggest Winners and Losers of the Big Summer Patch

League of Legends Patch 13.11 have changed a number of things on the Summoner’s Rift while also introducing the Rell Rework – but which Champions have risen due to the changes?

The 13.11 League of Legends patch have dropped 2 days ago, adjusting a number of items such as the newly added Echoes of Helia and Stattik Shiv, the recently changed Duskblade of Draktharr, Galeforce, Kraken Slayer and Youmuu’s Ghostblade. Of course, alongside the items, 12 Champions have been changed, with the Iron Maiden finally getting her Midscope Update – which did horrors for Rell, as she has a near-40% winrate after her ability changes. But some Champions did not suffer the same fate as the Metal Mage, so let’s take a look at the Winners and the Losers of the latest League of Legends Update!

League of Legends Patch 13.11 – the Winners

Rek’Sai

According to stats site Lolalytics.com, the Queen of the Xer’Sai got the best end of the patch, as both her playrate and her winrate went up, now boasting a 53.43% WR in the jungle, while also popping up in the toplane with a 55,44% WR. This was expected though, as Riot Games buffed the Void Burrower’s Passive, Burrowed and Unburrowed Q and her W. The biggest change was to her Q, which received decreased Cooldown and the ability to refresh the duration of the AA Buff. Rek’Sai has been out of the meta for some time, so hopefully she sticks this time.

Renekton

Finally, the Butcher of the Sands is back! Renekton have received some buffs for his E and his R, making him more mobile and durable. This has finally put him back to a 50%+ winrate after being in D and E Tiers for a long time. While buffing Renekton is always scary because of pros abusing his strong laning phase, it’s nice to see Riot caring about our favourite crocodile.

Ivern

While Ivern didn’t receive the promised rework after all, the balance team implemented a number of the changes they planned for the Green Father, such as the reduced Cooldown on his Q when used on monsters, the W passive bonus magic damage buff after exiting brushes and the vision changes, the E refresh, and some of the buffs to Daisy. This put Ivern up to a 52% winrate in the jungle and a whopping 55% winrate in the midlane – maybe LS was right all along?

Kalista

While everyone feared that the Spear of Vengeance would be OP again after the 13.10 item changes, the reality was a bit different. After the buffs to Kalista however, she could return to the top of the food chain: Riot increased her Base Stats, FINALLY removed the damage reduction and vision restriction of her passive, while also buffing Pierce and Rend. Kalista is an incredibly hard Champion to play, who should be rewarding to master – and her 47% winrate means that she is still not the strongest pick for the vast majority of players.

League of Legends Patch 13.11 – the Losers

Aphelios

Aphelios was one of the most contested picks of the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational, so it was time to end the reign of the Lunari Assassin. While the 13.10 items changes have sent him on the path he is currently on, the nerf to his Passive has finally knocked him down a peg. Maybe his sub-50% winrate will discourage pros from picking him every game.

Jinx

Jinx was the other half of the MSI ADC coin, as she was picked 43 times to Aphelios’ 46 matches – but she was banned more than the Hitman. While she only received a .36 decrease to her Attack Speed Growth, touching the Base stats of a Champion is a dangerous game. This tiny adjustment to her power means that her winrate is now down to 49% from 52%, which is a huge hit for a .36 reduction.

Aurelion Sol

The Star Forges has been picked here and there in the MSI while also terrorizing SoloQ with his infinite scaling and tank-shredding Q. Riot Games have felt the need to break down the horns (fangs?) of our very own Star Dragon by nerfing his E, increasing the mana cost and decreasing the AP scaling this has set him back by almost 3%, but made it so that people don’t ban him as much as before, so those that want to play him can pick him more.

Amumu

Amumu has been hidden OP for quite some time now, boasting an almost 55% winrate in the jungle. He is tanky, can clear the jungle very well, and can immobilize the whole enemy team with his double Bandage Toss and his Ultimate. While he remained strong after the nerfs as well, he can’t just zoom through the forest thanks to the nerf to his W. This is just reverting some of the 13.9 buffs for the Sad Mummy, who should still see play in the non-pro levels of League of Legends.

While the 13.10 patch of League has shaken things up, some Champions and Items needed an extra nudge in order to make it to the top – or in the case of Kalista, to start their climb. These winrates are subject to change of course, as the patch has only been out for a few days, but it’s great to see some returning faces to the meta!
