LoL Worlds Final Betting Tips

The grand final of the 2023 League of Legends World Championship is now less than 24 hours away. Korean side T1 will take on China’s Weibo Gaming in a best-of-five series in Seoul to decide who will be crowned the world’s best. Correct Score

One of the toughest predictions to make is the correct map score as it requires the exact correct scoreline. EsportsBets’ Jasper Wu predicted a close 3-2 victory for T1 which gives Worlds betting odds of 4.7 at the time of writing. Odds on this market are generally quite high due to the difficult nature of getting the right pick.

  • Prediction: T1 3-2 Weibo Gaming (4.7)

First Blood

First blood is awarded to the first team that picks up a kill in the game. On occasion, it can be a bit of a coin flip as a team earning first blood doesn’t necessarily indicate being the strongest. A laner could earn an unexpected solo kill or an early-game cheese strategy could earn a team a quick kill.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Weibo’s explosive top laner TheShy coming out swinging in game one, trying to make his mark on the matchup against T1’s Zeus and picking up the first kill of the series in the process.

  • Prediction: Map 1, Weibo (2.23)

Map Duration

Map duration is the length of the game and can be predicted based on team style preferences as well as external factors such as match importance. Such a hugely important series could see teams playing slightly more reserved to start with, afraid to make a mistake in the biggest match of their careers.

As a result, I’m expecting the first match of the series to be a long one. T1 will be especially happy to go into the late game with mid laner Faker favouring champions like Azir which scale very well.

  • Prediction: Map 1, over 31.5 minutes (1.89)

Map Kills

With a long first match, I can also imagine T1 earning a large number of kills. T1 has already claimed 15 kills or more in six of their ten victories in the tournament so far, so an expected long game one could easily see them reach this number once again.

  • Prediction: Map 1, T1 total kills over 14.5 (1.95)

Both Teams to Slay a Dragon

Even in losing matchups, it’s rare for a team to fail to claim a single dragon. For a team to avoid getting one, they usually need to be on the receiving end of a one-sided stomp. While I expect a close game one, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see the favourites T1 grow into the series and come out stronger in game two, dominating Weibo and preventing them from picking up a single drake.

  • Prediction: Map 2, Yes (3.54)
