LCO 2022 Split 2: Second split of the year to kick off; stakes raised as ticket to Mexico City's Worlds up for grabs

LCO 2022 Split 2: Week 9 kicks off final sprint for playoffs; six teams remain in hunt for finals

LCO 2022 Split 2, and the league’s competitors see sweeping changes as OCE’s best line up for a spot at Worlds. Who will be crowned as the LCO champions and represent the region at the pinnacle of League of Legends?

  • Kanga lead head-to-head over Peace in battle for last playoff spot
  • A night of upsets wraps up Week 8
  • Three-way tie for second once again

Just two weeks remain for the LCO regulation season, and the contest for playoffs has never been tighter.

In an absolutely wild close to week eight’s proceedings, three massive upsets have upended the order of the ladder, with severe ramifications for the top five.

Avoiding the ruckus was The Chiefs (17-0) who avoided a clean sweep of upsets yesterday after a solid win over wooden spooners Gravitas (0-17), who themselves have four matches left to notch a win this season.

Otherwise, it was pandemonium.

Mammoth (5-12), who are out to play spoiler as their finals aspirations are washed, took down Peace (8-9), who may find themselves missing playoffs altogether following back-to-back losses this week.

Looking to capitalise is Kanga (8-9), who’s late season resurgence sees them storm back into playoffs contention after a win over Dire Wolves (10-7), who conceded sole ownership of second place with the loss.

Pentanet (10-7) took down Order (10-7) who have been shaping back into form of late, meaning we’re three-wide for second with just four games each remaining.

Pentanet and Peace will be doing it tough next week with games against The Chiefs, while Kanga take on the bottom two in Mammoth and Gravitas — meaning a great shot at sitting fifth following the close of business next Tuesday.

You won’t want to miss it!

LCO 2022 Split 2 Rosters

Split 2 sees widespread changes to our LCO crews.

MSI representatives Order saw a change in the jungle following Shane “Kevy” Allen’s departure to North America, picking up Jeong “Goodo” Min-jae from Dire Wolves.

While Kevy departs, Vincent “Violet” Wong returns from Golden Guardians Academy and will take up the starting bot lane position at Peace alongside the squad’s former coach Vincent “gunkrab” Lin.

Other teams saw a mixed bag of changes; Dire Wolves will feature four new members of the Wolf Pack, while Pentanet will start Split 2 exactly as they ended.
