LCO 2022 Split 2, and the league’s competitors see sweeping changes as OCE’s best line up for a spot at Worlds. Who will be crowned as the LCO champions and represent the region at the pinnacle of League of Legends?
- 21-0: Chiefs down DW to complete perfect regular split
- Order hold off Kanga for second seed
- Gravitas set new record for winless split
They honestly never looked troubled.
For the second time in OPL/LCO history, The Chiefs (21-0) have completed a perfect regular split, with the boys in white and blue winning 21 straight matches across ten weeks of action — all without breaking a sweat.
It was Split 2 of the OPL back in 2015 when The Chiefs went undefeated across the season. The squad would only drop a single match across the entire split — winning 3-1 over Legacy in the grand final to qualify for the Worlds Wildcard event.
The Chiefs were in the same spot last split; a 19-2 record was good enough for top seed entering the playoffs, but they were unable to convert their regular season stomp into a spot at MSI, going down to Order.
This time, with a spot at Worlds on the line, it’ll take something special for The Chiefs’ opponents to topple the Split 2 giants, who are heavy favourites to represent Oceania in North America later this year.
Split 1 champs Order (14-7) began this split slowly as they adapted to life without star jungler Shane “Kevy” Allen.
But the Melbourne-based organisation rebounded in the back-end of the season, winning their final four matches to sit second ahead of Pentanet (13-8) and Dire Wolves (11-10).
The Wolfpack surprised many with their 5-2 split start, which included wins over both Pentanet and Order.
But the ‘Wolves couldn’t keep the wins coming, dropping their mid-season lead in the back end.
Kanga (10-11) are the talk of the town, with the squad’s mid-season winstreak enough to see them leapfrog a disappointing Peace (9-12) into the fifth and last playoff spot.
For Peace and Mammoth (6-15), it’s back to the drawing board as their seasons come to a close early.
As for Gravitas (0-21)?
It’s rock bottom for the Split 1 wooden spooners, who complete 2022 with a dismal 3-39 record, with many pundits criticising the organisation’s squad development methods, among other pitfalls.
It’s the first winless season in the history of Oceanic League of Legends, breaking the previous worst record of 1-20 set by Hellions in 2016 Split 2.
Eyes now turn ahead to the playoffs; Order will take on Pentanet, while Dire Wolves battle Kanga in the playoff opening matches this week.

LCO 2022 Split 2 Rosters
Split 2 sees widespread changes to our LCO crews.
MSI representatives Order saw a change in the jungle following Shane “Kevy” Allen’s departure to North America, picking up Jeong “Goodo” Min-jae from Dire Wolves.
While Kevy departs, Vincent “Violet” Wong returns from Golden Guardians Academy and will take up the starting bot lane position at Peace alongside the squad’s former coach Vincent “gunkrab” Lin.
Other teams saw a mixed bag of changes; Dire Wolves will feature four new members of the Wolf Pack, while Pentanet will start Split 2 exactly as they ended.
