Europe’s last hope takes on the LPL #2 seed in their last chance to remain in the MSI 2023 bracket. LEC vs LPL. G2 Esports vs BLG
With G2 Esports finally performing at full capacity, we’re finally seeing the Kings of Europe become a real threat on the Rift. And while their recent battles are nothing to scoff at, only time will tell if the LEC’s best can go the distance against other giants overseas. Going toe-to-toe with them in this series is Bilibili Gaming, a team whose training from the LPL stands as a threat to G2’s ambitions. If you’re betting on the mid-season invitationals, this G2 Esports vs Bilibili Gaming preview and predictions guide is for you!
G2 Esports vs BLG Preview
G2 Esports
The most dominant team in the LEC continues to survive in the international invitational after a 3-0 win against MAD. After a dominant first game, BrokenBlade led the charge in a second game that could have decided the series. Luckily, G2 seems to have rediscovered their form as their front-to-back macro was just too good to beat. This success carried over to the last match of the series where G2 pressured early lanes and went for seamless skirmishes (scored by Hans Sama’s death rockets) before ending MAD’s MSI 2023 run in a commanding victory.
Right now, Caps and co. find themselves in a tight spot. If they win their best-of-five series against BLG, G2’s place in the Bracket Stage puts them up in a rematch against Gen.G. The chances of overcoming them is going to be a tall order, but they can take what they’ve learned from their past win against GEN to – at the very least – avoid a full sweep.
G2 Esports Roster
- Sergen “Brokenblade” Çelik
- Martin “Yike” Sundelin
- Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther
- Steven “Hans Sama” Liv

BrokenBlade’s picks carrying the team often becomes a win condition for G2 Esports.
BLG
Bilibili’s previous match-up against JD Gaming gave the MSI audience a taste of what the Chinese region can do at their best. Flashy and decisive, they take every challenge in fierce – but often misguided – scraps. Like G2, Bilibili Gaming often has their top-laner Bin directing every play. On top of that, their team finished in the top 5 in last year’s World championship. The League sphere already knows where the LPL stands among the legendary teams in League of Legends esports, but cracks are starting to show in their form after their LCS match-up.
BLG Roster
- Chen “Bin” Ze-Bin
- Peng “XUN” Li-Xun
- Zeng “Yagao” Qi
- Zhao “Elk” Jia-Hao
- Luo “ON” Wen-Jun

GIGABIN can win 2v1’s as early as mid-game, and was known as being the best Irelia in solo queue.
BLG vs G2 Esports Predictions
There’s a ton of firepower from either side of the Rift, but G2 Esports solid macroplay has beaten better teams. 3-1 for G2.
