Fortnite’s annual Winterfest event is back in 2021 for a short period.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1. Only 11 days have passed since the Island flipped, and things move quickly in Fortnite. Starting today, December 16, players have the opportunity to check out what Winterfest 2021 has to offer. As usual, fans can expect Chiller Grenade, Sneaky Snowmen, Holiday Presents and Snowball Launchers during their in-game experience.
However, there’s a lot more to digest this year. The event concludes on January 6, so you’ll want to know all pertinent details before getting to work. Today, ESTNN breaks down everything you need to know about this year’s winter-themed event, including the present-filled cabin’s return and much more.
Sgt. Winter’s Winterfest Lodge
The best part of Winterfest 2019 was the ample amount of gifts and in-game items offered in the Lodge. Like in 2019, the fun-filled Lodge is back, but this time Sgt. Winter is running the show. He brought with him a wealth of presents in the form of Fortnite rewards.
The Lodge possesses 14 cosmetics items that will be a mystery until you rip off the wrapping paper. You’ll want to choose wisely to earn the best rewards, and there’s certainly some luck involved.
Here is a list of the items available for free in the Lodge:
- Two Outfits
- Two Pickaxes
- Two Wraps
- Glider
- Contrail
- Emote
- Lobby Track
- Loading Screen
- Emoticon
- Spray
- Banner
Twelve of those 14 gifts are a genuine surprise. Epic revealed the two outfits mentioned above in their latest blog post. Fans can unlock the Krisabelle and Polar Peely as Winterfest 2021 progresses.
Krisabelle will appear in lockers after opening six gifts, and Polar Peely won’t be usable until he thaws in the Lodge. Keep in mind that if you miss a day, you can open two gifts the following day.
Winterfest 2021 Quests
On top of the gift-giving Lodge, Epic prepared a set of Winterfest 2021 Quests that will progressively unlock each day. Those who participate and complete challenges can earn themselves XP and two in-game rewards.
- Here is how to unlock the Snowmando Board Glider and Ffrosty Back Bling:
- Complete seven Winterfest Quests — Unlocks Snowmando Board Glider with Ice King Board and Llamadelica Board Styles
- Complete ten Winterfest Quests — Unlocks Ffrosty Back Bling
If that wasn’t enough, players could also add more in-game items to their collection by playing two hours of winter-themed Creative games.
Here is what is up for grabs to those who indulge in Creative Mode for 120 minutes:
- Ol’ Cracky Emoticon
- Llamistletoe Spray
- Merry Marauder Banner
- 2022 New Year’s Banner
Fortnite x Spider-Man: No Way Home
It’s no coincidence that Spider-Man swung into Fortnite ahead of the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe entry — Spider-Man: No Way Home. In an unexpected move, Epic Games officially announced Fortnite’s Item Shop would feature Spider-Man and MJ from the movie. That means Tom Holland makes his Fortnite debut while Zendaya enjoys her second appearance in as many months.
The two cosmetics will arrive in the Item Shop this evening at 7 PM EST. Each character comes with a few selectable styles and other in-game items.
Here are some other quick notes worth mentioning:
- Fortnite Crew subscribers will unlock an exclusive Golden Lookboard Glider during Winterfest 2021.
- Concept Royale winners to see their skins for sale in the Item Shop.
- Epic will release ‘Blizzabelle’ skin for free in the Item Shop (shown above).
- A Sgt. Winter non-player character (NPC) will patrol the island, throwing Holiday Presents. The NPC is friendly but will attack if prompted.
Wintertime is always a fun time to drop onto Fortnite Island. Remember, Winterfest 2021 ends January 6, so keep that in mind and unlock the rewards as you can. We’ll be sure to update you with any additional information.
