The PGL Major Stockholm event is mere hours away from entering the final, all-important stage. Up until this point, twenty-four of the world’s greatest CSGO teams have fought valiantly, ultimately being whittled down to just eight teams. Now, we enter the closing matches of the competition, and on the 7th of November, one team will be crowned the million-dollar victor. However, there are still several matches yet to be played, and each one is dramatically important.
The Deck is Stacked
Right now, eight of the most powerful, dominant, and valuable teams in the CSGO space are set to compete in the closing stage. They are:
- Natus Vincere
- Team Vitality
- Gambit Esports
- FURIA Esports
- G2 Esports
- Ninjas in Pyjamas
- Heroic
- Virtus.pro
They’re all champions in their own right, and they all boast the tangible capability of bringing home the grand prize at the end of the New Champions Stage. At the top of the table sits Natus Vincere, aka ‘Na’Vi’, a team that has seen remarkable performances from all angles in the last year. Na’Vi enters this tournament fresh from top-tier victories in the BLAST Premier, ESL Pro League, Intel Grand Slam, and IEM events.
It’s easy to see why Natus Vincere is the favourite to win the entire PGL Major Stockholm event.
Although, no team can be discounted at this stage of the competition, as they all have the ability to win. For the New Champions Stage predictions, it’d be prudent to back Na’Vi as the ultimate winner, but also, look to Ninjas in Pyjamas to fall into second place. It’s highly likely that the 3rd-4th prize will be awarded to Gambit and Heroic, with the 5th-8th wins being snatched by FURIA, Vitality, G2, and Virtus.pro.

The Competition So Far
The New Champions Stage is the final round in the new, refreshed format. Up until now, we’ve seen the relatively complex (but ultimately fair) Swiss System Format being employed in the earlier stages. For this competition, a system known as the ‘Buchholz’ system was also used, with the end goal of having as balanced a tournament as possible. From the start of the tournament up until this point, the play has transitioned across three stages: Challengers, Legends, and now, Champions.
We’ve seen a mix of do-or-die Bo1 matches, more drawn out Bo3 fixtures, and now, in the final stage, a Bo3, single-elimination bracket. It has been a diverse and dynamic tournament that has given rise to fantastic opportunities to win big on CSGO bets.
In the last round, the New Legends Stage, the contest was in full swing. There were some remarkable performances spilling out across the competition, particularly in the final round, where teams were snatching up the very last positions available in the New Champions Stage. Given that this is the most valuable CSGO tournament in history, it seems obvious that teams are quite simply desperate to land the grand prize.
