Between 2021 and 2022, the Halo Championship Series and the Halo World Championship will change the face of esports.
Kicking Off With the Kickoff Major
Let’s put it out there right away – Halo Infinite is already a roaring success. Both newcomers to the franchise and old veterans are praising Halo Infinite’s multiplayer platform, and the pros are already getting their teeth stuck into the gameplay. In December of 2021, the Kickoff Major will be held, putting 32 teams in the spotlight for the first time in three years. From the 17th to the 19th of December, these teams will play through a three-stage Major, which boasts a massive $250,000 prize pool. Although, that’s just a toe in the water when it comes to the prize pool for the full 2021 – 2022 HCS season. Revealing The Season
It was just days ago that 343 Industries, the developing power behind Halo Infinite, revealed the structure of the Halo Championship Series. For the 2021 – 2022 season, participants from North America, Mexico, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand will do battle. There’s a record-setting $3,000,000 prize pool up for grabs, the most ever seen in the history of competitive Halo. Throughout the entire competition, the play will be broadcast on Twitch and YouTube.
Finally, it has been confirmed that there will be eight in-person events held across all four major regions featured in the competition. And then, at the end of all things, the Halo World Championship will take place in Seattle between the 20th and 23rd of October, 2022. It’ll be the first Halo World Championship event for more than four years.
