The perfect word to describe G2’s performances in recent months, or years even, is inconsistent. When they are on their A-game, the international lineup is one of the scariest teams you can face.
However, G2 always struggled to maintain a high level of performance, which makes them prone to being upset by objectively worse opponents. A situation like this occurring at an event the calibre of IEM Katowice would be a total disaster for the organization.
Having said that, G2’s roster is filled with excellent players, who can single-handedly change the outcome of a game. With such talent at their disposal, they should be able to overcome their issues and become a constant threat at every event.
Heroic
Heroic got off to a brilliant start in the IEM Katowice Play-in, where they bested Astralis in a fierce Danish derby, before overcoming BIG in a tight BO3 series to qualify for the tournament’s main draw.
After making numerous roster moves at the tail end of last year, the CS2 community didn’t put much faith into the new Heroic lineup, consisting of three Danes, and the international duo of Guy “NertZ” Iluz, and Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski.
Despite the changes, The Danish-majority lineup seems to have found their footing, and they are looking better and better with each map they play.
