We take a look at some of the top-tier players who missed out on a spot at this years International.

We are just a couple of days away from the beginning of the most prestigious Dota 2 event of the year. The International 11 will include the best teams in the world and will take place this October in Singapore.

Following the end of the Regional Qualifiers, we already know the names of most teams that will compete at The International. With that said, we have to wait for the Last Chance qualifiers because they will feature the last two teams.

There are still a few days left until the quals begin, but we already know the names of several top-tier players that won’t have the chance to play at The International. We can easily include all of Nigma Galaxy’s roster here, but to make it more interesting, we will feature players from different teams.

We also won’t include any of the teams that will compete in the Last Chance qualifiers. After all, they still have chances of getting a slot for The International.

Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi

Miracle- will be the only player we will include from Nigma Galaxy because it is safe to say he is the team’s biggest start. Once considered the best core player in the world, Miracle and his team are struggling to live up to fans’ expectations. After MATU left the team, they tried to use a couple of players. Most recently, the organization added SumaiL to their roster, but even the legendary mid-laner wasn’t enough to qualify for The International.

Following Nigma’s disappointing performance, there have been rumors that Miracle- will leave the team. We don’t know whether this will be the case and will most likely have to wait until TI comes to an end. With that said, Miracle- is essentially one of Nigma’s owners, so it is highly unlikely for him to head to another club.

Gustav “s4” Magnusson

The second name on the list is Gustav “s4” Magnusson, one of the living legends in Dota 2. This is one of the oldest and most respected players in the game because he was a part of Alliance’s legendary roster that won TI 3.

S4 is a player that can fill in almost any role, but he is mostly known as a top-tier mid-laner. That said, the player was also an offlaner for some top teams, including Evil Geniuses, OG. His current team is called goonsquad, and it barely made it to the Last Chance qualifier.

Despite being among the favorites, players made many mistakes that prevented them from taking advantage of their roster. The team lost against Team Liquid and got eliminated after losing to Into The Breach.

Aliwi “w33” Omar

While we are on the topic of top-tier mid-laners, we also have to include TI’s finalists from a couple of years ago. Although some people may think that w33 shouldn’t be on the list, he is one of Europe’s top-tier midders. Sadly, he joined Alliance, a decision that he most likely regrets.

Even though Alliance is one of Europe’s top teams, its results in the last couple of weeks have been dreadful, to say the least. Nikobaby and the rest failed to qualify for The International and lost almost all of their matches in the DPC and in other events.

W33 joined the team in February this year, but even he wasn’t enough for Alliance to start winning. As expected, the EU team lost its match against Entity, and then lost the series in the LB against Team Bald Reborn. This ended w33’s dreams of attending yet another The International.

Vladyslav “Crystallize” Krystanek

One of Na’Vi’s core players in the last couple of years also failed to secure a slot for The International. Crystalize changed his roster a few times, but he’s been a part of PuckChamp since August this year. Unfortunately, even the strong Ukrainian carry could not help PuckChamp secure a slot for TI.

Despite the fact that PC was one of the hidden favorites, the team had a lot of problems. In fact, it got the chance to play against Mind Games, which was the easiest opponent they could ask for. However, after losing, PC had to survive in the LB.

The team defeated X3 in R2 but lost to Nemiga Gaming in R3. This put an end to Crystalize’s dreams to compete at The International.

Xu “fy” Linsen

There aren’t that many popular Chinese support players, so it shouldn’t be surprising that FY is in a league of its own. Xu is easily one of the best players in the world and probably the best Rubick player alive. Sadly, after he left PSG.LGD, he hasn’t achieved any major success.

Fy spent some time with Elephant, after which he moved to Invictus Gaming. Sadly, the Chinese powerhouse could not live up to the expectations and couldn’t qualify for The International. It almost secured a top-3 finish, but iG lost to Vici Gaming in the Lower Bracket Semifinal.

Muhammad “inYourdreaM” Rizky

The next player on the list that couldn’t make it to TI is InYourdreaM. The SEA superstar was a part of many top teams over the years, including TNC Tigers, Fnatic, Nigma Galaxy Sea, and many more. In fact, he recently played for NGX SEA during the Open Qualifiers in SEA, but the team couldn’t live up to the expectations.

Despite being the favorites against Polaris Esports, NGX lost this match, which sent them to the Lower Bracket. The bad news is that the team had to go up against XERXIA. The series between the two was great, but in the end, InYourdreaM and the rest couldn’t defeat their opponents. As a result, the team was eliminated from the TI qualifiers.

There are a couple of teams that have real chances of winning the Last Chance qualifiers, so it will be really interesting to keep an eye on them. Expect more information about this event, as well as TI. Also, don’t forget to check some of the best Dota 2 betting sites and see what they have to offer.
