IEM Dallas has arrived.
This week’s 16-team offline tournament in the heart of Texas marks the return to tier one LAN Counter-Strike in the United States after an almost two year hiatus due to COVID.
LookingForOrg earned Oceania’s spot at IEM Dallas after a 2-1 victory over ex-Order, but they aren’t looking for an org anymore…well, technically not.
The squad have formed their own organisation ahead of IEM Dallas — Encore Esports Club.
It’ll take something special from the boys in their opening best-of-one, though — Encore have drawn Major Champions FaZe Clan in Group A.
IEM Dallas comes just over a week following the PGL Antwerp Major, which saw FaZe Clan take an emphatic 2-0 victory over Natus Vincere in front of a packed Antwerpen Sportpaleis.
Now it’s Dallas’ turn, with the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center hosting the $250,000 USD Intel Extreme Masters calendar stop — and it won’t just be the gentlemen in action.
IEM Dallas has been extended to include the season finals of the inaugural ESL Impact Women’s League, which itself features a record $123,000 USD in prize pool.
Oceanic squad Mindfreak qualified for the event at home, and already have made their mark abroad, qualifying for ESL Impact Valencia via the North American qualifier.
With no OCE qualifier for the Spanish tournament, the MF girls opted to enter via the NA qualifier as practice ahead of Dallas. With a 2-1 (16-9, 13-16, 16-8) win over Please Send Help in the final, Mindfreak have already booked themselves a second tour overseas even before their first main event has begun.

IEM Dallas & ESL Impact League Rosters
There were three late changes to the attendee list for IEM Dallas. PGL Major runner-ups Natus Vincere withdrew from the event due to visa issues and pending a roster change following the departure of Boombl4.
European qualifiers Entropiq also encountered visa issues, while qualifier Heroic were forced to withdraw due to COVID. BIG, Movistar Riders and MIBR will replace the three teams based upon ESL’s World Rankings.
