Danish Esports franchise Heroic have teamed up with the audio specialists EPOS, announcing a partnership that will mean that the team’s players and facilities will benefit from the extensive range of EPOS headsets, microphones, and other specialist audio equipment.
The news comes just a couple of months after Heroic had agreed a data partnership deal with the AI-driven audience analytics specialists Cavea.
Similarly, EPOS has also announced a deal back in January to provide their products to the BLAST Premier Series seven events in 2022. In addition, the two companies would also work on the “Push To Talk” podcast series.

EPOS, who were formerly known as Sennheiser before a rebrand in November 2019, have been making significant moves into the esports industry in recent times, agreeing other deals with Overactive Media and Cloud9 amongst other esports companies.
Similarly, Heroic’s list of partners continues to grow with the company having already agreed deals with Cavea, as mentioned above, and Red Bull to support its teams in Rocket League, PUBG, CS:GO and in the sim racing arena.
Product Development
It is easy to see why an esports franchise would want access to some of the top audio technology available nowadays.
Alongside the visual cues that players can see on screen, many games now include an auditory element that can allow players to track opponents via their sound.
Of course, the greater the technology that teams have access to, the clearer and more useful to the players on the team it becomes.
However, it is not just for scoping out enemies where audio is crucial. In a team game, devising a strategy as a unit can be critical and with so much money on the line in the top esports events, it is easy to see why teams like Heroic want access to the top technology in this area.
Alongside the provision of equipment, EPOS will have their logo displayed on the Heroic official team jersey and perhaps most excitingly for the team, their players will assist with EPOS in product development, meaning that esports stars will get a direct input into the next generation of EPOS audio products.
