Stardew Valley creator updates on Version 1.6 console ports: “extra work” ahead

Stardew Valley fans awaiting the arrival of Version 1.6 on console platforms received another update from creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone. Despite the initial rollout on PC in March, Barone revealed that bringing the update to consoles involves “extra work beyond the PC version.” In his recent statement, Barone expressed his commitment to expediting the process, acknowledging the anticipation among console and mobile players. He assured players that he is exerting all efforts to ensure the timely release of the update across various platforms.

While the PC version has already seen multiple patches, reaching Version 1.6.6, Barone disclosed ongoing work on another patch primarily focused on bug fixes. The forthcoming update promises not only bug fixes but also additional content, including new mine layouts, enhancing the gameplay experience. Players can anticipate a plethora of new features such as visual enhancements, multiplayer functionality, and quality-of-life improvements upon the launch of Version 1.6 on Switch and other consoles.
